「Matera is a bit of a labyrinth, so locating rooms of a smaller establishment is a challenge. Family booked a different premise & found it even more challenging. We were advised to park & shuttle from the urban center, though there appeared to be some public parking nearby. It is located on the edge of town, more convenient to hiking trails than dining and siteseeing. Our room was on the small side, but very clean and comfortable. 「The service was great. We parked at the parking lot recommended by the hotel, and there was a free shuttle that took us to the hotel. We stayed in a separate room, which had a bit of a damp smell. The room was about a 5-minute walk from the reception and the breakfast/spa area — it took a few time to remember the route. But getting lost in Matera is also a kind of romance.」
