The staff at Porto Castello was excellent and very friendly and helpful. It’s a small hotel but was clean and provided everything we needed. The free shuttle service to and from Fira was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again. If quaint cozy and comfortable is what you’re looking for this is it… very budget friendly as well!!

The hotel was clean,staff very helpful,few steps to the pebble beach/bring water shoes.Place very peaceful and secluded,but you could take free shuttle to busy Fira.Nice,big pool.You can have full breakfast at the hotel ,very convenient. In the evening the dinner was served by the pool, Ana is very good cook!

Stayed here overnight during a layover. Staff was super friendly and nice. Shuttle to ferry port/airport is very convenient. Unfortunately, our room reeked of cigarette smoke which I found to be overwhelming.

I had a pleasure to stay in Porto Castello September 18-21. In my opinion : good location , near the beach , good size swimming pool, spacious facilities in comparison with Fira’s accommodations , peaceful and quiet place. We could hear the sea waves from our balcony at night. We love the free transportation to and from the hotel to Fira daily. I highly recommend this hotel.

Good but not very accessible

This hotel is good for people who are looking for a place to relax onsite and not do much sightseeing. The room was great but the hotel needs some upgrades. The reception area is gloomy. This hotel is not accessible by public transit but there is a free shuttle service that takes you from the hotel to Fira 4 or 5 times a day. Close to a beach.

Calm & tranquil hotel.

Calm & tranquil hotel with a pool, and one minute walk to the sea. Quiet & peaceful, away from all the madness. There's a free shuttle service to/from Fira every three hours. There are various breakfasts served untill 12pm. You can also order from a take away menu for lunch and dinner. Cindy and George are lovely. The only negative for me was smoking is allowed in the rooms..

Family run hotel where you can feel Greek culture a bit closer. Located in a secluded and quiet area around 10 min from Fira city centre, they offer a free of charge transportation every 3 hours which is convenient. The rooms are modest but well equipped with A/C and mini fridge. Sheets and towels are changed every two days and the overall cleaning is spotless! Not sure if it is a thing in Greece but found weird have to hold the shower over my head. The breakfast runs from 8-12 and you will have few different and basic set menu to choose for. I picked the ‘Healthy’ and everything tasted very fresh everyday. The lady who helped me had a contagious and genuine smile even when they were busy! efcharistó! The pool restaurant opens at 4pm in case you don’t want to got back to town they have a tasty and adaptable menu. However if you are planning to spend the day at the hotel you could buy drinks and few snacks at the reception but there are no shops around so be prepared if you like snacking. As my flight was late, after checking out I could spend the day at the pool, have a shower and dinner before heading to the airport and it was really handy. I paid €25 for airport transfer and it takes only 10 minutes from the hotel. Overall I enjoyed very much my staying at Porto Castello and would recommend it for sure!

Porto Castello is a very pretty hotel in a tiny town on Santorini, about 4-6 km from Fira, the main town on Santorini. No elevator. Clean, well kept rooms with balconies. 5 different breakfast types available, paid daily per person. Saltwater pool. Free shuttle with drop off just outside Fira runs about every 3 hours from 8:30 am to 11:30 pm. Can arrange airport or port transportation. Staff were wonderful! When we arrived, they couldn't initially find our reservation booked through Expedia, but then discovered that our reservation started the following day. I had the printout from our reservation, and it was our error, not the hotel's. They quickly found us a room for the extra day and even got us into the room early as we had arrived early in the day from the port. I cannot thank them enough for their assistance in this situation. Town is very small with very narrow streets, so parking would be difficult. Walk to small beach. Only one or two restaurants in town, so you need to either plan to eat in Fira, the main town, or order delivery from a restaurant in town that they have a menu for. Roads on Santorini are very narrow, with lots of curves and steep drops, so you couldn't easily walk from hotel to anywhere else.

The family who runs the hotel is welcoming and available 24 hours. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the bus transportation depot that takes you to the famous town of Oia to watch the sunset. The only concern is that you have to follow the hotel shuttle schedule that runs every three hours, requiring that you plan accordingly since it is a distance from Fira which is not walking distance.
