DO NOT STAY!!

Never once in the description of the hotel, does it give any warning that people with any disability or mobility issues should not and will not be able to stay at this property. It was utterly ridiculous. (I would like to point out, however, that Vickie was extremely helpful.)

The rooms are beautiful with a gorgeous view. The walk and climbing the stairs up to the resort was a little tricky as I just had knee surgery but definitely worth it for the view and accommodation. The beds are extremely firm if you are used to a softer bed.

The view from our room is priceless. The close proximity/location to the famous Oia Blue Dome is worth all the stairs we have to climb to up and down is worth it!

Excelente hotel en lugar envidiable a la bahía que es lo más valora le ademas de la atención de Vicky. La vista espectacular. Problemático es el acceso pero es el precio a pagar. Si llegas en auto, hay que pedir permiso a la seguridad para poder bajar casi a nivel del mar por pocos minutos para dejar el equipaje y luego dejar vehículo en parking en la parte superior. A partir de ahí llevarás el equipaje 2 a 4 pisos de altura a tu habitación a pie. Una vez instalado para subir al centro de Oía tenes una escalera amplia de 220 escalones a pie o en burro. Toda esta incomodidad se paga ampliamente cuando disfrutes en la terraza del movimiento portuario y la bahía . Muy disfrutable.

The place was nice and was in a very cool location on the water however it was not clear where to go when dropped by the taxi and there were at least 50 stairs (no elevator) that had to be maneuvered with luggage. The stairs are not all the same sizes and woupd be terrible for elderly Transfers from the airport or port are expenses. This location is at the bottom of Oia. And it’s f yiu need to go tot he top yiu have to take the cobblestone stairs that are in ver 200 stairs going one way. I’m r walk on the street for about 20-30 min We did like the catamaran tour of the black red and white sand beach although it did say you got to sit in the hot springs there was no time for that The host was very helpful

Please check carefully before renting this property, as there are some things they didn't tell us about. They say they have parking outside, but they don't mention that it's about four blocks up the mountain, where you can only park at the bottom to unload your bags, walk one block, and climb three flights of stairs. Additionally, they have no one to help you. They have a free shuttle service to the parking lot, but it doesn't run in the morning or at night. Also, please take good care of your belongings on the property. It was a very bad experience; I don't recommend it.

Lugar increíble, con vista espectacular. Lo único poco cómodo es el hecho de tener que subir aprox 250 escalones para ir al pueblo de Oia donde se encuentra la mayoría de tiendas, restaurantes, transporte público, etc. Vicki fue súper amable y me ayudó muchísimo organizando mis traslados desde y hacia el aeropuerto, 100% recomiendo hacerlo.

We had a wonderful one night stay at Lava Stone. We chose Ammoudi Bay over the main town Oia for the quiet setting and beautiful view, away from the overrun main town. All catamarans etc come into this bay for the sunset and we were able to watch it from the privacy of our own terrace. The hike up the big cobblestone steps to the main town is a bit exhausting - you can ride a mule up the hill instead if you wish… Do take advantage of them organizing a pick up for you from the port / airport. Not cheap, but very pleasant ride. Be aware that the car cannot reach the property and you have to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. We only had a backpack, so that was no issue for us.

Beautiful location but have to be able to do stairs to get around. Seafood dining close, other restaurants up the stairs in Oia. Very convenient for a catamaran tour. Will stay here again, just to look over the water when you get up and go to bed

Beautiful water views. We loved sitting outside on the patio and we even saw a cruise ship leaving one evening. The rooms were beautiful and cleaned every day with great AC in each room. The downside of this location is that you’ll need to pay for transportation up to Oia every time you want to go somewhere. Spent hundreds of Euros in just three days and never went further south than the ferry port. We did the stairs twice, but you’re not going to want to do that climb every time you want to go somewhere. Walking down is easier and you can also walk along in the street which we did. But there is no car parking down in Ammoudi Bay. There are four restaurants. We ate at one for lunch and it was over 130€ for 3 drinks, bread, hummus and two salads. Other than those four restaurants there is a small shop that has a limited amount of ice cream, coffee, and a few deli sandwiches. Also there are 20-30 steps up to the rooms. They will help you with your luggage. It’s a nice place to stay. It’s just not convenient to exploring Santorini.

Even though we had to lug our luggage up the steps to the hotel, we loved it! No complaints here. Vicky in reception reached out to me a week before to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel as well as our transfer to the ferry. She also arrange to have our luggage brought down to the shuttle on our departure. The restaurants below the hotel were wonderful. Wish we had more time to spend at Lava Stone to enjoy the sunrise. Walking the 250 steps up to take pictures by the blue domes were well worth it. Loved everything about Greece. Recommendation, do your shopping in Athens because it’s so much cheaper than the islands.

Wow!!!! What an amazing place!!!! The view!!!! The staffs are so friendly and helpful. I love the restaurants around us. I love the fact that I can walk up to the touristy area or take the DONKEY. It’s so calm and quiet. I just LOVE LOVE it!!
