Beautiful room, private location, amazing jacuzzi

The room was beautiful, the upkeep pristine, access to natural lighting was good, private accommodation (unlike many of the rooms from other hotels). The only thing I found a little odd was that the staff comes to clean the jacuzzi twice a day, morning and evening, which made it difficult to enjoy it without being interrupted. Eveything else was amazing and I have already recommended this particular room for friends visiting Santorini in the future!

***This is their THIRD bad review of 7. This review is for the lower level unit. This is no doubt a great location BUT it's not worth it. 1) Hot tub never worked. When we arrived she said she was calling someone to work on it. I asked three days in a row to be gas lit at the end with "OH we had a misunderstanding". How is a broken hot tub a misunderstanding? I asked three days in a row and instructions we're never given. It turns out you have to call to get someone to turn it on. You can not turn it on. There are no instructions in the unit outlining this. 2) The bathroom shower floods. It was a mess! I had to ask for extra towels to stop the flooding. Sadly I can not post my video or pics of this. 3) No luggage storage after check out but since I was upset she made an exception for a few hours. Sorry, that does not make up for the rest. 4) The people next door were so loud the first night. 5) The people next door left a mess in our area. All of my concerns we met with oh yes, I'll take care of everything. However, in the end, nothing really happened. Again, great view, great location but they need to fix their stuff.

Gala Suites was pretty disappointing. There is no housekeeping at this hotel or daily housekeeping so I’m not sure as to why that is listed. They do not clean your room and only brought clean towels after I said something about it to the host. After that experience I’m not sure if I trust whether or not they really clean the sheets between each guest or clean the room. The hot tub looked a little dirty so we did not use it during our stay. The host is somewhat sketchy as well. The only thing that I would say was really great is that she can schedule taxis for you that are 35 euro to and from the port which seemed reasonable. The location is really great as well. I don’t think I will be staying here again due to the cleanliness issues. In addition if you get the senior suite the wifi does not work inside the suite it will work outside on the deck which was kind of disappointing.

Séjour magique et paradisiaque cette suite est situé idéalement surplombe la mer c’est d’une beauté incroyable ce petit jacuzzi sur la terrasse permet d’admirer le levée et le coucher du soleil d’une façon incroyable la suite est situé parfaitement dans le village pour accéder aux restaurants et à toutes autres activités à recommander vivement propreté parfaite et accueil au top

My husband and I had the best time in Santorini for our honeymoon in September mostly thanks to our stay at Gala Suites. If you’re looking for a private stay this is the way to go. We stayed at the honeymoon suite and view was INCREDIBLE. There isn’t a reception since it’s not a hotel, but Athena checked us in and was very responsive the whole time through WhatsApp. They also arranged our very punctual and efficient shuttle to and from the airport/port which made things easier. Overall we had an EXCELLENT experience with Gala Suites and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to wake up to the most stunning views of Oia! We want to go back one day!

The check in process was very unprofessional. After setting up meet up time Athena arrived an hour late, she set up meeting at location that closed early and I had to wait on a street in the heat because did have the courtesy to inform me she was running late or to tell me that a 100 meters away were shops and restaurants. I asked for a reference on where to leave my luggage or late checkout in order to store luggage but she could not accommodate. I had to carry my own luggage up because she also didn't send anyone to help with that. The jacuzzi didn't look sanitized it had a ring around it. Aside from a very comfortable bed and great view, I would never recommend or stay at Gala suites again. Thankfully a nice woman with boat tours allowed me to leave my luggage at her shop for free for 4 hours so i wouldn't have to carry it around. Also was billed 1 euro for taxes...luckily I was able to leave in room or be charged international fees for the charge on my credit card. zi don't think Athena appreciated being called out for her lack of professionalism because she was very petty with a request of 1 euro that I'm sure my 89.00 US dollars covered under the taxes and fees category. Disgusted to say the least.
