This hotel is a perfect little haven right in the centre of Sancerre. The welcome was so warm from Stephanie and we had a lovely breakfast each morning. The room was spacious and we loved the little roof terrace. We'll definitely go back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Folklore Boutique Hotel in Sancerre. The hotel is beautiful, stylish, and full of charm—the perfect place to stay while visiting this wonderful wine region. Our room was comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and felt both modern and very much in keeping with the character of Sancerre. The location was fantastic for exploring the village on foot, enjoying the local restaurants, shops, and, of course, the incredible wines. What really made our stay special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything felt personal and relaxed rather than like a large, impersonal hotel. It was exactly the kind of boutique experience we were hoping for. Sancerre was one of the highlights of our trip to France, and staying at Folklore made it even more memorable. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, intimate place to stay in Sancerre. We already hope to return!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is fantastic and makes it easy to explore the beautiful town of Sancerre. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. A few things to keep in mind: the staff only spoke French, so communication could be difficult if you don’t speak the language. The amenities are fairly limited—there was no ice available, no on-site parking, and not many of the small conveniences you might expect. While the room itself was a nice size, I personally prefer hotels with a few more amenities and easier access to everyday necessities. Overall, it’s a good choice if you’re looking for a great location and don’t mind a more basic boutique hotel experience.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great location and the staff was very responsive and truly cared about doing their best for us to enjoy the stay. We stayed in the top bedroom which was very lovely - we recommend you try it if available. Great breakfast and also the lunch sandwiches were fantastic. We will be back.

Terrible service. We checked in just after 4pm with nobody onsite, the second bed was not made up and when requested bedding to make ourselves, we were told not possible. Nobody would be there to help until following day.
