The staff at the Tropical Palace were excellent. There were a few issues with our room that were addressed quickly, although the problems weren’t always resolved. If you are thrifty in your travels, this accommodation is OK.
There could have been a lot more maintenance and painting done on the grounds.

The room has only what you need, a bed, a bathroom, small clothes hanging space, some drawers. No coffee pot, microwave, or fridge. Instant coffee provided in the office. No elevator and stairs are steep so if you have trouble in that area beware. Besides that, the staff was wonderful. Facility was clean. We found it convenient to what we needed. You do not NEED a golf cart unless you want to go to Secret Beach. Hotel provided us a ride to our departure boat. I would stay here again.

Check in was a breeze, I wish I got to try the onsite restaraunt. The rooms are a little thin, I heard a couple from all the way down the hall in the middle of the night. I was checked into the wrong room at first and was corrected after returning to the front desk. However, both rooms smelled like mold. If that problem gets fixed, the hotel would be a 10/10

Staff was excellent but this definitely was not a 4.5 star the bathroom sink was not fixed to wall had to be careful when using sink there was a strong sewer like smell so bad we had to keep bathroom door shut and could smell this scent in main stair way other than that it was like any other 3 star hotel I have stayed in and very limited blankets

Location is good. Comfy beds. Room has what you need including a fridge and safe. Large rooms. Everything functions but finish on the rooms are poor. Value if you pay a good price. Staff friendly and helpful

The staff was courteous, patient and understanding about my needs as I had a lot of questions for what I wanted to do and where to go during my stay. They were also careful not to put their guests at any risks because there was a day where the weather conditions were not favorable, and any excursions for snorkeling and scuba diving were cancelled, but rescheduled for better weather. Also, 2 members of their staff were critical to ensure my vacation was memorable. A staff member called Smokey and their new bartender both deserve a raise or some other reward as they were instrumental due to the services provided to myself and other guests.

We stayed for 17 nights and really enjoyed calling the room our home. The ac worked great the bed was super comfortable and the shower pressure was also quite nice. The staff was very accommodating and location is perfect. They were doing some work as other have said but it didnt bother us because we knew they were just working on making the place better and we plan on staying there again

The restaurant in the pics is closed it’s only a 5 min walk from the water taxi once u reach San Pedro . They also have golf carts for rent if it’s not too busy for average price .Doo not get the basic room get the pool view . The microwave is in the main office an instant coffee no microwave in your personal room

Offered us a full refund. After showing us three rooms, one screwed shut - not allowing balcony access. Another with a broken door and the third in poor condition, the general manager told us he preferred to refund our money.
