The staff including Rosita and Faura were very friendly and stayed in contact with me from the time I arrived until I left. The property is beautiful and close to Secret Beach. It’s a bit of a drive from the down but nothing a golf cart can’t handle.

The resort was so beautiful and well kept. We loved the small size of the property and the chef was truly world class. There is a dive shop on the pier that was so helpful and well kept chartered a day snorkeling trip that was so memorable. You truly can’t go wrong staying here.

Our room was lovely and clean. We enjoyed our salt scrub and massage on the beach while listening to the waves and the breeze in the Palm Trees. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent food at the on site restaurant. Note of concern was the pool looked a little cloudy. We did appreciate all the work that was being done to clear the beach of the sea grass.

We enjoyed our stay so much. We wanted a place to relax and that is exactly what we did. We watched the sunrise from the pier every morning and loved lounging by the pool. We enjoyed the bar and restaurant. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again soon!

The property is well maintained and has a welcoming atmosphere, although some areas would benefit from renovation and modernization. Unfortunately, the beach is not easily accessible because of the amount of sargassum. The staff is exceptionally courteous, friendly, and always willing to help. The restaurant and bar provide a pleasant dining experience and excellent drinks in an outside setting. The continental breakfast needs improvement.

Everything what we wanted to do, we did and enjoyed. Bikes were available at no cost, we enjoyed to be able to bike to other resorts. Every day you had the choice for dinner outside or inside. The location is great, away from the busy San Pedro town, Golf Cart City. Nothing the people in the resort, do all to make your stay perfect.

This resort was absolutely beautiful, the staff made it even better. Rosita was our favorite!! So welcoming and fun. Staff were always cleaning and always very friendly. Sunrise steps outside your door on the beach or pier was my favorite part!! Breakfast and coffee in the morning was wonderful. Have plenty of wonderful things to say about this place. It was nice that it was away from the noise of the city but it was a very bumpy long ride to and from, you definitely need a golf cart to get around. 20 minutes from secret beach was a plus since there’s a lot of sargasm on this side of the island. Only thing I would suggest would be to add some hooks in the rooms to hang things to dry.

This is our second time at Portofino, and it was excellent. Far enough away from the city to be quiet and peaceful. Close enough to get to great restaurants and bars. The staff is friendly and readily available at all times. Accommodations are clean and quaint. Their dive shop has everything you would want to do to experience the sea life and pristine waters. I recommend a dive or snorkeling adventure with Kris. The fresh coconuts with rum just down the road from Steve and Angel and Roddie’s cocktails at the bar. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Portofino is a beautiful, quaint little resort. We have stayed in their small cabanas a number of times. They are rustic and simple. The resort grounds include a lovely salt water pool, a dock, a small reception area, a small outdoor bar with a beautiful patio under large sea grape trees as well as a restaurant above the reception area that overlooks the gorgeous sea and barrier reef. Overall, it is simply beautiful and relaxing. The frontline staff are phenomenal, truly great and caring human beings. They really make the stay very special. This July 2026 stay, however, we experienced a few disappointments in comparison to past stays. The restaurant food was not as good overall as we have experienced in the past. Most disappointing in respect to the amenities was the removal of the water taxi as an option for going into San Pedro or to other resorts. We were truly saddened not to have that available given how far Portofino is from the city. The biggest challenge, though, was the lack of available beach front and ocean water. While not a reflection on the resort itself, the large amount of seagassum was disgusting and the smell sickening. Sadly, it extended out past the end of the dock.

Aside from the sargassum, which the workers removed everday, this place was great! Pool, food, staff, weather, and not being in dt San Pedro. Set up a snorkel, dive, or fishing w Kris and Emil on the property's private dock.
