The room was not what I expected. Everyone that stayed woke up with sore throats, I believe due to mildew (AC's, ceiling had mildew on it). Had stayed here before and liked it but won't be coming here again.

The location and some of the staff are the only things you can say nice things about. Everything is very ran down, including the maintenance and other buildings on the property. There is construction trash disorganized all over the place. Elbow grease can go a long way, it would be nice if the owner felt it was important to pick up bottles and trash. They need to step back and walk around with the perspective of what a resort atmosphere should be. We heard the owner lives on site and apparently they do not care. Our bed was horrible, the oven did not work, it would only broil and you would have to flip the breaker to get it to turn off. The shower head had one jet that literally felt like a weapon and the jacuzzi tub was old and haggard. It's time for them to gut and replace everything. But the a/c worked great so that was nice. Overall the place does not look like the pictures. It needs a complete overhaul. We will not be staying at Captain Morgan's on our next visit.

We had a good stay at Captain Morgan's Retreat. We stayed in a cabana room with a porch looking out on the water. Beautiful view. Super clean. Super nice staff, always with a smile. Cute little store on the property to pick up a few needs. It's north of town, so it's very quiet there. The food at the restaurant was good too.

One pool was so cloudy that you could not see the bottom. The other pools barely had any lawn chairs or umbrella's. Before staying at Captain Morgan's we stayed at X'Tan Ha, which was awesome. Almost everything was included at X'Tan Ha. i.e. gas for the golf cart, breakfast (which was delicious and large portions) shuttle to town, flitered and drinkable water. I felt at Captain Morgans' the nickle and dimed you for everything little thing, none of the things mentioned above were included.

I arrived at 7:30 PM and the front desk was closed, but the driver was excellent took great care of me made sure I got in the room OK and even convinced the people next-door at oceans to stay open long enough for me to get some takeout food. The Casita is perfect and the beach is wonderful I would strongly suggest Orbitz let customers know that the Front Desk here closes at 7 PM.

We had the most charming Villa. We were celebrating our 40th Anniversary. The staff made it so special. We returned to the villa with a surprise set up of towels swans, flower peddles and Champaign. We chose Captain Morgans because we were looking for a place to just enjoy the ocean view and relax. It did NOT disappoint. The resort offered everything you would need if you chose to spend your entire time there. We are looking forward to returning.

Incredible amount of sargassum in front of resort which appears to have been there a very long time therefore water very dirty. Room and pool no complaints. Overall resort needs much improvements as showing its age in many aspects. First step would be the visual of the resort as you first appear ( ex face lift with updated signage, paint) so doesn’t look neglected.

We recently returned from our trip to San Pedro, and I wanted to share that our stay at Captain Morgan's Beach Retreat was a highlight of our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with great kindness. Janet at the front desk was wonderful; she ensured our check-in was seamless and personally escorted us to our room. The entire property has a peaceful and incredibly relaxing atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our beach bungalow. The waterfront views were breathtaking, and the accommodations were comfortable and well-equipped. Having a fridge and coffee maker was a great touch, and we loved spending our mornings on the porch. A special thank you to the restaurant staff. The owner, Maricruz, and her assistant, Ingrid, were incredibly attentive, and the food was consistently delicious. We were especially touched when they surprised my daughter with table decorations and red velvet cupcakes for her birthday. It was a thoughtful gesture that made her day very special. We will highly recommend your retreat to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for a lovely and memorable stay. We will return.

The staff at this place make it so enjoyable. Service was great and the restaurant and chef were the best. We stayed in the original palapa’s / casitas and they have been redone nicely with local paintings, a nice couch and refrigerator.

The ocean view was great; however, despite the resort pictures showing you could walk right out onto the beach and access the water, you could not because of the sargassum seaweed. There was a dock for water and boat access. Our room was sufficient, but the entire resort was a little run-down. We went without water one day, and went without hot water for two whole days. Most mornings, we woke up to noise from the construction that was going on. The restaurant closed early because it was slow, so we didn't get dinner that night.

We had a great stay. The staff was incredibly accommodating. Even waited for us the night we arrived to not close the kitchen and have dinner since during the week there are minimal dining options after 8pm. Overall, great experience. Food and Spa was great too.

We had to ask every day for new coffee, new water housekeeping there was no consistency with it at all and it started getting really frustrating. There was a lot of garbage on the beach and we got the most amount of bug bites. I’ve ever had the entire weekend. I didn’t see one person swim in the pool, although it looks cleaned.
