I absolutely loved the newly renovated room and the location is to die for. I started having daydreams of wanting to live there because I loved the vibe and location a lot. The only unpleasant thing was that the doors seem to have to be forced/slammed in to the door frame in order to be shut and locked properly. As someone who has a pet peeve for slamming doors, this irked me and triggered my emotional response to thinking others are angry around me but quickly reminding myself that this was the nature of the whole building got me out of that emotional state pretty quickly. I definitely want to come back to stay again some day to enjoy it more because there were several things I wanted to do but didn’t get to because of prioritizing errands/needs over leisure/recreation. Overall I am thankful for the opportunity to even stumble across the area and experience it! I would definitley recommend, I almost wanted to forgo reviewing to gatekeep it from the public but the staff was also very friendly and kind that I want to make sure they have steady business for years to come.

I love this place. It’s clean and comfortable. And the staff are friendly and inviting. They even give you a s’mores care package so you can build a bonfire on the beach. I thought that was the cherry on top.

This was an excellent choice for our night stay.The staff did an excellent job getting us situated. It's dog friendly, the rooms are clean, the heaters/cooler is easily adjustable and kicks on quickly. Its located near all the conveinces. I would stay here again in the future.

The new renovations were a bonus - and a very comfortable bed. Rude guests making noise with their children and a party truck at 11pm ruined the calm and quiet accommodations - but this wasn't the fault of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful upon check in. I would encourage travelers to consider the Dune Surfer Inn if they are in the area.

The hotel is 5-10 min walk to the Oceano beach, so if you want to be near Sand dunes or just the beach, it’s a good place. Our room faced highway 1 , so we can definitely hear all the cars , but we stayed during the week so it wasn’t that bad . The only two things I would say can be better is the bathroom fan (very loud), and the blankets were super thin. There should be extra blankets because the room is cold , and while there is a heater it makes the room too stuffy. I think adding warm blankets or improving thermo isolation will help. The room is very clean and has fridge and microwave , shower water hot. Staff is very nice!

Definitely a diamond in the rough. Came to hit the dunes and enjoy the beach so we only really slept in the room. The staff was courteous, the room was clean, and we got what we expected. Big thanks for accommodating a downstairs room!

Its in a great safe location. There's a store right next to it and a Mexican restaurant across the street. Its walking distance to the Oceano beach/Dunes.
