We stayed at Placid Suites in San Juan, PR (Room 11), and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. The room was very small and did not feel well maintained. The bathroom door was warped and difficult to close properly. The bed was incredibly noisy, it made loud sounds even without much movement, making it hard to rest. The biggest issue, however, was the mosquito infestation. The room was swarming with mosquitoes. My husband is allergic, and despite using insect repellent, we were repeatedly bitten while in the bed and living area. It became a health concern and we felt unsafe remaining in the room. Because of the health risk, we had to leave the premises after only a couple of hours. The room was simply not habitable. We attempted to resolve the matter through Expedia, but the refund request was denied, which was very disappointing given the circumstances. Parking is also very limited. There is no true off-street parking and street parking availability is minimal. We understand that Puerto Rico has mosquitoes, but a rental property should take proper precautions to ensure rooms are sealed and treated to prevent infestations. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet basic comfort or safety expectations.

The door was all glass paned, so we had to cover it with the blanket to keep the light out. The blind on the window also didn't go down all the way, so it also let light in. Therefore, we had trouble sleeping well.

I stayed for 9 nights. The location is a good one, in a safe and attractive area of San Juan, close to the beach and a large supermarket, a Starbucks and walking distance to theatres and good restaurants in neighbouring Miramar. The room was small but ok. It would have been preferable to have a microwave, in addition to the fridge provided. There is little insulation around the door and the windows. Employees can be quite loud and boisterous in the morning, cleaning and making repairs. There is no personal balcony, as suggested in the hotel's description. The roof terrace has no seating, and the railing on the stairway up could use a spruce up. Overall, I would return again.

When I arrived, one of the beds had stains on the blanket, and another had hair underneath the blankets. The stovetop and countertops were also filthy. We also were stuck on the balcony for over an hour due to the door handle being broken. The owner was hard to get in touch with and answered messages very late. The only good thing is the location.

The place was disgusting! False advertisement on Expedia. All the pictures shown do not look anything like that in person. The bed was thrown together not neat and the pillows were as flat as the rug. The bathroom had a black curly hair on the toilet seat. If it was just cleaned that would not be there. There was smuts on the shower wall and the bathroom wall. Drain was left out in shower and shower looked like it had not been scrubbed in years. Outdoor furniture all rusted and stained and absolutely no furniture on the terrace as shown in the pictures. Don’t even bother wasting your time or money on this place just keep scrolling you will find something much much nicer! We were 3 couples who booked this place and all agreed to leave immediately!!!!!
