When we got to the room, I opened the blinds and was immediately creeped out. The building right across from us was under construction, and workers on every floor were staring straight into our windows. We had zero privacy, so we had to keep the blinds shut the entire time. It felt like we were trapped in a prison cell.
On top of that, I booked a room with a king-sized bed and was given two queens instead. When I asked the front desk, they claimed there were no king rooms availabl, yet the hotel’s own website still showed them open. It felt like my room was switched because I’m a man traveling with my husband, and they didn’t want us sleeping in the same bed. Whether that was the intention or not, that’s exactly how it came across.
And to make matters worse, the TV didn’t offer any movies, and we couldn’t stream anything either. We usually like to unwind at night with a movie, but that wasn’t even an option. Between the lack of privacy, the uncomfortable setup, and zero entertainment, we felt stuck in a dark, windowless box. No comfort, no respect, no reason to ever come back.
