I booked this room looking for an easy, clean place to crash for the night. Unfortunately it was pretty disappointing- ice machine didn’t work; fridge didn’t work; AC was loud and made awful noise. I guess it was clean enough but I definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

My stay here was wonderful. The staff were very polite and helpful. They allowed for a 3 hour early check in. Frequently asking if we needed anything when we’d be walking out to our car that was parked on site. Overall great experience! I’ll be staying here again! Everything seemed new and remodeled.

Worst stay I’ve ever had at an Inn. No sound proofing, no black out curtains, half a roll of toilet paper for a five night stay, fridge didn’t work, remote didn’t work, limited parking that fills quickly, dirty ac unit, only two things pillows for a king bed, and no housekeeping.

I had an amazing stay at LYFE San Diego! The views are absolutely incredible—whether it’s sunrise or sunset, you’re getting a picture-perfect experience right from the property. The recent renovation really stands out; everything feels fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail. The rooms are clean, stylish, and super comfortable, and the overall vibe of the hotel is both relaxing and elevated. You can tell a lot of effort went into creating a space that feels both trendy and welcoming. Highly recommend LYFE San Diego if you’re looking for a great stay with unbeatable views and a beautifully updated atmosphere.

First, the likes. Very clean property and very close to places to eat, coffee, breakfast, lunch. Parking is underground and safe. Room and bathroom were very recently remodeled so very nice and contemporary. We were disappointed that there was no microwave or hair dryer. The refrigerator did not work, but we did not need it. I told the manager as we were leaving so I'm sure it is being replaced. The room stays fairly well lit at night. The outdoor lights illuminate the room and blackout curtains are needed. The TV was nice and big. Ice machine in lobby provided adequate ice. The people running the property were friendly.

This is a pretty nice place and reasonably priced for its location. There is a shared balcony with views of downtown. There is some off street parking but it is very minimal. There was a lot of after hours (after midnight) noise that was not addressed until a guest called it out, I don't know if there isn't overnight staff, but it was obnoxious and it was a weekday. There are also missing common amenities like a hair dryer. But the biggest issue is that the window blinds, even when fully closed, let in an incredible amount of light. I woke up several times in the middle of the night and couldn't tell if it was 3am or 3pm from how bright the bedroom was. All in all, id stay here again, but id have to bring a sleep mask, a hair dryer, and possibly a white noise machine.

Location, low price and cleanliness earn this hotel 5⭐️ It appears this location is being converted to a basic boutique hotel…basic is the key word here. While the bed was very comfortable and the showerhead had amazing water pressure, other amenities were lacking. There were no extra towels available and no washcloths at all, so makeup-wearers will need to bring their own wipes. There was only 1 roll of TP. The tub was slippery and no drain cover - mgmt will be sorry when their drains clog from long hair. No hooks on the back of the door or towel racks for hanging toiletry bags. The digital lighted mirror and bathroom vanity were trendy but lacked counter space. A container with hand soap and lotion were taking up what little space was available. No hair dryer in the drawer. No closet or luggage racks, but there was a hanging rack for clothing with only 3 hangers. Bath towels were thin and small; one bore a Best Western emblem. Despite the lack of amenities, we would stay here again since this hotel is spotlesssly clean, has decent parking and located right in the heart of Point Loma. Easy walking to pubs, coffee, and cafes and a short drive from the Cabrillo. By adding basic comforts for travelers and a few upgrades, I think they’ll be on their way to having a budget boutique hotel.
