The lady at the front desk as great. Everything past that was awful. Yes, it was affordable and walking distance from the train station. That’s what sold me.
The room itself was foul. My non-smoking room felt like it was smoked in for 30 years. The noisy AC that was cobbled together with chicken wire just felt like it was pumping ash into the air. Most all of the power outlets were burnt out. The bathroom was falling apart, and they didn’t even care enough to try scrubbing all the mold off the tiles any more.
I didn’t have the gall to complain or attempt to switch rooms, because I had my doubts that other rooms were any better.
Overall, I reckon I’m glad I had a place to stay right off the train late at night.
Even with my humble expectations, I would advise anyone else in that situation to take Uber or the trolley away from there, even if it adds another hour and a higher price tag to your adventure.
