San Chimento Vacation Rentals

"It’s a nice place in a very historic area. Keep this in mind while reading. We were a bit confused on arrival because the hilltop towns in Italy have no drive zones with heavy fines. We couldn’t really understand how to drive to the hotel without entering the forbidden zone so we parked in a lot outside the zone. We made the mistake of taking escalators and walking quite a distance to get to the hotel. If we did it again we would have called a cab. On the exit we did call a cab and it made things a much easier. The second issue was with air conditioning. Turns out that the government regulates the use of air conditioning and it couldn’t be turned on during our stay. This wouldn’t have been a problem but the top of the hotel has a large glass roof that traps a lot of heat. So, if you are staying in the shoulder season, request a fan to the room. The place is nice, it’s not a problem, just be prepared and know that you have to be understanding and just enjoy it for what it is. Siena is a very special place. Enjoy!"

"Below expectations for the price – nice location but disappointing experience We stayed for three nights in early April as a couple. During the same trip, we stayed in other agriturismos in a similar price range, and this one unfortunately did not compare well in terms of value and overall experience. The location near San Gimignano is very nice, with pleasant countryside views. However, the service and overall guest experience felt quite limited. Key issues: • Breakfast (€20 pp): limited and inconsistent selection (e.g. stale croissants, very basic fruit unless requested, no plain yogurt, eggs gone cold) • Short breakfast window (until 10:00), creating a rush with slow replenishment • Staff appeared very stretched, resulting in a lack of welcome and a tense atmosphere • Accommodation: annex building requires driving to the main property for meals; not very convenient • Kitchen available but guests asked not to use it • Dinner: fixed menu with no choice; food was good but simple; service felt canteen-like and not particularly atmospheric • Other points: • Pool remained covered despite warm weather • No takeaway breakfast offered for early departure (despite we paid for it) • Complimentary wine (Expedia Gold benefit) only offered at check-out, hence not able to enjoy it) Positives: • Nice setting and views • Comfortable bed • Good house wine Overall: While the property itself is pleasant, it felt more like the hotel prioritise their convenience. "Overall good , one runner in the gym was not working out of two so I couldn’t work out with my wife , breakfast lack of variety , not enough vegetables , good service , water was not going down in toilet, we asked to fix it but only in evening fixed it , room was good overall "
