lovely hotel in a rural setting overlooking a lake
the hotel was a little difficult to find mainly because it is in a rural stetting by a lake. The room was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful persevering with our broken Spanish, the evening meal and breakfast were excellent and very good value. We would definitely stay again for longer next time and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.
A recommander chaudement donc...
This is really quite a good hotel in a very deserted location. There must be only about 100 people live in this village on the shores of a dammed reservoir. Signposts to the hotel are non-existent, you need to use Google Street Maps to learn the exact location of the place, and make sure you turn off the motorway at the correct junction (380 going south or 387 going north) otherwise you may get truly lost. However, this is still a hotel worth staying at. The food is not bad, and very cheap. Rooms are comfortable and the showers are great.
We decided to stop in a quiet place on our way to Salamanca. Fortunately, we found this gem, far from crowds and tourists. And what a gem! Amazing setting, the ruins of an old village overlooking a peaceful lake are the background of this immaculately maintained hotel with all mod cons. The restaurant served us the best and cheapest food we had in three weeks in Spain, travelling everywhere around the country.
A recommander!
Very beautiful outlook right by a man made reservoir in a semi deserted village but yet only 30 mins from Salamanca. Quiet atmospheric setting .limited menu but at 10 euros very good value indeed. Staff very helpful even borrowed us 2 bikes for great day out on quiet roads. Room great. Breakfast bit boring only slight downside. Well worth staying here.
If you dont speak Spanish or French then probably better to try somewhere else. It was impossible to communicate with any of the staff.
Menu was in English and said wine included but we were charged for the wine in morning.
Hotel very nice and half way from Santander to costa del sol.
Loved our stay here. The reception staff went out of their way to assist us and our lack of Spainish vocabulary. The rooms were perfect and the views beautiful. We really enjoyed walking around the town and some of the ruins on the lake. The food here was really good and sooo cheap. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Me ha encantado. Una gente muy agradable y buena comida. Repetiremos!!
