During the middle of the night, there was a loud, obscene, and violent domestic dispute that dragged on for approximately two hours in the room directly below ours. The front desk was unresponsive. Police were called and after a lot of door slamming, etc. the noise finally subsided. When I checked out, I asked that they refund our pet fee for the trouble. The clerk refused, but said I could contact corporate with my request. No big deal, but then I got a charge for $541.25. I called the property and they said it was due to "room damage" despite the room being completely clean and normal when we left. The clerk said she had key logs showing that no one else had entered my room, and that the staff found the toilet lid removed and a pipe disconnected with a couple inches of standing water in the bathroom. She accused me of intentionally vandalizing the toilet. I requested the key log and CCTV footage and she refused. I called the police and they confirmed that the domestic dispute was in the room directly below ours. Rather than admit that they got the room number wrong in the damage report, they stuck to their story and refuse to remove the charge. I am disputing it with my card issuer, have filed a report for fraud, and a complaint with the Utah consumer division. This is the singular worst hotel experience I have ever had and thankfully there is not a close second. I will never stay with this chain again.
