「Visiting Clarkes is like stepping back in time. The architecture of the building makes such a refreshing change from the modern hotels of concrete, glass and over the top air conditioning. Our room was lovely and was beautifully furnished and the public areas of the hotel were also thoughtfully presented. 「If staying at this hotel, do not get a room on the 4th floor. The restaurant is on the 5th floor and whenever someone pulls a chair out in the restaurant, the screeching sound is heard very loudly in the room. After a day long trek, I wanted to get some rest. There was a loud party in the restaurant that went till 1AM. Upon enquiring, I was told that the party host was the MD of the hotel and they cannot be told to stop after a reasonable time. The approach to the location is little harsh and I recommend all to talk to hotel staff for the directions before your trip or a small Hint ( Use Nahan Road to reach the location).
