This hotel is lovely, the parking is safe, the build and furnishings are of excellent quality. However, our room had a terrible small of drains/sewage. It also looked onto the bins. Our issue was not with the hotel or the room but with the duty manager and her unprofessional and quite honestly, insulting way she dealt with us and our complaint. We met other patrons who had been visiting SouthSands Hotel for many years and they too were massively disappointed by the attitude of staff, in particular but not exclusively, the duty Manager, who was down right rude and singularly unhelpful to them too, It's safe to say that we will not be revisiting this Hotel. Thankfully we managed to book a room at the Harbour Hotel which was a happy ending to our otherwise unhappy special break. Some serious customer service training is very much needed at this hotel.
