This was a sweet place to spend the night! Delightfully cozy and clean. The hotel also includes a tea salon as well. The staff were all very kind and helpful. My wife and i would stsy here again!
This is a sweet little hotel right in the center of St. Malo’s walled city. Warm staff and lovely breakfast. My room was small, but I prefer that. Great place!
I liked that it was inside the old town walls. Easy access to the old town and beaches. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely buffet breakfasts available.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We loved being inside the walls. The area surrounding the hotel was lovely. The room was small but nicely decorated. There is a small elevator. We enjoyed our stay.
This is a really excellent independant hotel, with a welcoming staff and lovely, extremely clean rooms. I hope to come back soon. I don't think another hotel has ever made me feel as at home and welcome.
The Hotel was easy to get to, being just 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The room was comfy. The room, stairs and bar area were pretty in a nod to 1920s & 30s decor, interspersed with local art and images. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast options are simple but tasty and good value. I would definitely stay again.
A delightful place to stay with wonderful staff. My room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The reception area has tables and chairs and a bar.
The owner is very helpful
Room was small, had no decorations and did not match picture; elevator to get there was the size of a coffin and could not hold one small person with full luggage. Breakfast (optional) was good. Location was excellent.
It was a great place in the middle of the walled city. Able to walk anywhere. Great crepes across the way!!
I would suggest parking your car outside and not driving in the walled part.
It was a nice hotel. Handy for being inside the 'Intramuros' at Saint Malo. The whole parking situation was a bit inconvenient and very confusing. (The staff who explained it to us may have been new and left some vital information out, it's about a 5 minute walk/drive away).
The room was clean, minimally decorated and tiny but suited it's purpose.
The staff, on the whole, was helpful.
The picture of the hotel, on this site, is not the front of the hotel, at all. It a view from the back which is only accessible by a private room.
Oh, yes, the elevator is not handy, at all. You need to walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to an entrance door that shut properly as to make it function properly. Only 1 person at a time can use it.
I wouldn't return.
Very helpful, polite and friendly staff. The room was spacious clean with very comfy beds. Very quiet as it was facing the interior court.
Some parts were a bit outdated but I guess still functional (we struggled a bit closing down the window) and some bits were missing just thick courtians but nothing to frost the windows without having it completely dark.
Loved it! Perfect for solo traveler. The area is wonderful, magical. The staff here is lovely. Room, facilities are clean, well cared for. Windows open for fresh air. Wake to the sounds of seagulls (really quite charming). Morning cappuccinos. Cider, wine and cocktails later in the day. There is a very convenient laundromat just 3 blocks away. I will happily stay here again. Literally only downside was no electrical outlets by the desk (hard to use laptop there) or in the bathroom (unless using a male shaving device). Blow dryer is provided but nowhere to plug in anything else in sight of a mirror. Was fine for me as I just pull my hair into a ponytail and go. Love this hotel!
The hotel is in the middle of the old town, getting there by car on a Saturday lunchtime was a bit of an experience. Once at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful, some do speak English if you do not speak French. They offer parking at €20/night, it's in an underground car park maybe ten minutes away, cheaper than parking in the large carpark outside we were told.
The rooms are compact but functional, access to the rooms is by stairs, those with impaired mobility may struggle, the lift is up a small flight of stairs. The hotel is in a little square, sitting outside the front of the bar with a drink is nice and relaxing. The whole old town is in walking distance, we stayed for an afternoon and a night before taking the ferry back to Portsmouth and had a lovely time.
The hotel does not serve food apart from breakfast, which we didn't have but it looked good when we checked out.
