"I arrived on the hottest day of the year but the room was cool and the aircon worked wonders! Good, if a bit limited, choice for dinner; excellent wines by the glass. I recommend an early morning swim in their pool!"

Hotel Première Classe Chalon Sur Saone

"This hotel is ideally situated half way down through France. A very useful overnight stop if you are travelling further south. The staff are helpful and the rooms are clean. Not a huge room, but enough space for two people to share. There is a Camponile Inn on the same campus, which serves meals, or if you prefer a hamburger & chips, there's a Buffalo Grill about 150 yards down the road. We've stayed overnight here on many occasions as we've travelled from Calais to the south coast of France and have never had a bad experience."

"Our accommodations at Hotel St. Regis were good and provided us a perfect location to walk to and see the finish of Stage 12 of the 2026 Tour de France. Classic French building in the heart of Chalon-sur-Saone. Air conditioner was a little weak but we did what the locals do and opened the large floor to ceiling windows and that kept us comfortable for the night in spite of the ongoing heatwave. The hotel is on a busy street but is in walking distance of several plazas, the canal, and many restaurants. Also, there is dedicated and secured parking just a block from the hotel. If your travel plans include Chalon-sur-Saone, you should consider a stay in Hotel St. Regis!"

"A comfortable and fairly convenient option in Chalon-sur-Saone, The main restaurant areas are closer to the river so a bit of a walk, the staff were all very nice and the room was functional (no view, no frills) but clean and the bed was comfortable."

"Our welcome was impeccable with excellent recommendations. Such a lovely, attentive host. Room clean, comfortable & cool, thanks to A/C. Pool area great & quiet. Parking felt very safe & good restaurant (La Flambée) cheap petrol almost opposite. All on one level for less mobile guests. Highly recommend."

"Five stars is not enough for this gem of a hotel. Before we arrived Benjamin was attentive and helpful. When we arrived we had a fantastic tour of the hotel and its Onsen Spa and pool. We met the pets and were able to explore to our hearts content. Our room(s) was beautifully decorated, well thought out, clean and spacious, with lovely views over the gardens. The children were made to feel incredibly welcome and enjoyed using the pool and spa. The onsen is particularly special, magical even. And such a treat. Breakfast was delicious and set us up well for the day ahead. We loved it so much we are thinking of changing our travel plans to be able to stay on our way back north through France! Thank you Benjamin and family for a truly memorable stay!"

"A rather tired property but the room and bed were very clean. Decor and carpets are very tired but appear clean. Big surprises were no drink making facilities in the room, no cup in the bathroom, a hideous shower arrangement over a tiny bath where the shower screen opens inwards over the bath leaving about 6” of space to climb through before struggling to close the screen. If you’re more than a 34” waist, best not to risk it. There is an external fire escape from the 1st floor but the steps are covered in overgrown brambles - a really good trip hazard if you’re trying to flee a burning building. Would be closed down on this if in the UK. I did not have breakfast. All in all, ok but there are far better hotels for the same money or less."
