Nice, clean friendly hotel in great location

Great location, smart, friendly hotel, good food and comfortable clean room with great view. We went in heatwave and no air con - but fan provided. We went for Rhine in flames festival and great views of 2 firework displays and boats. River boats stop just opposite hotel and great value 'ring ticket' allows open ski lift to top of hill, walk to next ski lift down into Rudenheim, and then boat return for £20.

Great hotel and view

Very quite hotel in a great location. The office staff were very friendly, providing an upgrade and making sure even though it was hot outside, that we had fans to keep us cool. The breakfast and view were beautiful and walking distance to some cute little dining options.

Delightful hotel in a beautiful setting

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The setting was stunning, the hotel was well run, with friendly staff who spoke English well enough to give us info on the local area and make up for my meagre knowledge of German. The breakfasts were excellent and sitting outside in the evening, watching the traffic on the Rhine with a beer (or two) was blissful. The village of Assmannshausen was full of character and the nearby town of Rudesheim lively. We will definitely return to the Unter den Linden in the next year or two.

The little things that make you feel special

Large spacious room staff at check in and restaurant exceptional. My first time ever after staying in 100's of hotels at breakfast our table was set with a porcelain name plaque with our name on it and a hot pot of coffee. If i could i would give it a 6 star in this 900 year old town. PROST

Restaurant and location. Jacob, our waiter several nights was personable, attentive and fun The restaurant was a great location outside in front of the hotel. It would of been better if they seated smokers at one side of the outdoor restaurant and non smokers at the other. Germany in general allows smoking at outdoor seating which can be unpleasant for non smokers

The main road to Rüdesheim is closed but it was a minor inconvenience. Extremely nice staff, breakfast is great and we enjoyed a dinner there as well.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Zimmer war sehr gut , alles sauber und aufgeräumt. Das Personal war sehr nett und die Chefin hat uns viele hilfrei Tips gegeben. Parken ohne Probleme am Hotel. Im Restaurant eine sehr gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Kommen gern wieder.
