Easy checking, very friendly staff, great view, great service and breakfast.
Hotel staff surprised us by offering and serving a champagne for my wife birthday!!
I loved this place! Mid century modern, North American lake house vibes. Super cozy. Very well maintained and super clean. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Gorgeous views and spacious room.
We loved the location, secluded lake front, close to Skyline and other attractions. Spa and sauna in a fabulous spot to enjoy the beautiful views while relaxing. Above all amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. A fabulous cooked to order breakfast to start the day.
Perfect place to unwind so peaceful with the lovely view of lake Rotorua from the room and dining area

Absolutely gorgeous location right on the lake. Loved the hot tub and stepping out directly to the lake. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the coffee each morning. Highly recommend!
The Koura Lodge is such a beautiful property situated right on the lake. The area is peaceful, the views spectacular. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The spa tub was a real treat. Highly recommend!
Amazing couple running this lodge. So friendly and welcoming. The lodge itself is so amazing and relaxing. Beautiful views and quiet away from the main strip of tourism. This spot is quite literally the best. It was such a good place to rest our feet after a long day of travel.
Our room had an amazing view of Lake Rotorua. The area is nice and quiet and relaxing. The complementary breakfast was very delicious. Parking was okay, but the driveway was very narrow and only one lane. Overall highly recommended if you really want to stay away from the tourists.
We spent three nights at Koura Lodge. Its location is away from the busy area. It is quiet, luxurious and clean. Ideal for couples, friends, adult family members. The owner is very attentive and welcoming.
We absolutely loved Koura Lodge, the views are breathtaking and the owners really friendly. Rooms are a little dated if you're comparing to inner city 5 star hotels, but it didn't bother us at all as it's what's outside the windows that captured our attention! Would recommend to anyone and would love to return.
This hotel is a real gem! Beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, and the staff is absolutely fantastic. They did everything to make our stay relaxing and worry free. The sunrises from our porch were spectacular and the private beach is like a little slice of heaven. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and stay here again in a heartbeat. On a scale of 1-10, I give them an 11!!
What a lovely find. Right on lake Rotorua with a private beach and jetty, this was an exceptional, though short, stay. Our host was charming. Fantastic breakfast and a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. In places, the property looked a little tired but overall, a real treat.

They had a water problem and placed us in an upgraded hotel called the Black Swan. Staff was wonderful and cooked me breakfast while waiting to accompany us to the Black Swan. Felt bad for them but the were wonderful and paid the $300 difference in the hotels.
This place was spectacular! 2 sets of sliding glass doors in our room opened onto a deck just steps from the lake. There were kayaks available for guests to use. There was a pretty lawn with lounge chairs and beautiful landscaping. We didn’t have an opportunity to use them, but there was a hot tub and a sauna next to the lake. Breakfast was very good, and it could be eaten outdoors on the deck overlooking the lake or in a lovely room with a cozy fireplace and cathedral ceiling and wall of glass with amazing views. The manager was wonderful and very accommodating. Breakfast started at 7:00, but when we told him we had to check out at 6:00, he got up early and made breakfast available for us at 5:30 a.m. It was a comfortable, beautiful place, and I couldn’t rate it any higher!
Very quiet, no sulfur smell. It's right on the lake and you can watch the sun rise every morning. Be aware some of the rooms are actually 2 rooms joined together! They don't advertise this well. I was unpleasantly surprised to find I (traveling solo) had booked 2 hotel rooms! The manager seemed really reluctant to do anything until I escalated my complaints to the owner. He fed me lines of BS about the 2nd room "It's the ensuite" "it's the sitting room" "all our rooms are like this". It was very frustrating to deal with. Eventually they put me in a more suitable single room next door. It had cobwebs but was generally clean and comfortable. They have a sauna/hottub and kayaks you can borrow. It's a little far from the city center so have a car or don't mind paying for Uber. The breakfast is really good
