I had a train to catch early in the morning. As I’m leaving the property, the check out desk is closed so I left the key there, and sent a message to the property to charge my card on file. I get a response from the property, with exclamation points that they cannot charge my card. I immediately respond and say, I’ll get you a new card and I’ll take care of it. Even though I’m clearly not trying to skip out on the bill, I get messages from the property about how they are going to get the police involved if I don’t pay by 8am. I’m clearly working with the lady to try to get it paid, I don’t appreciate being threatened. I mean they took my credit card upon arrival, isn’t that’s what that’s for? So I’m on a train trying to send my credit card info over message, while service is going in and out because this lady is freaking out. When I clearly said, I will get it taken care of.
Once I got service again, I called gave them another card (don’t think they take Amex) and paid. Property was very classic and nice, they need to train their employees the art of chill in a unfortunate situation. Checkout was at 11 and this lady freaking out at 8am was not appropriate. It caused stress in my trip, and clearly I had all intentions of paying, that’s why I messaged them. If this is a problem, take payment up front like all other hotels. I gave them my card for this reason.
