The Il Covo is managed by the (adjacent) hotel just across a small side street. It is a 10 minute walk from the Cavour metro station. The check-in staff was wonderful. She walked us up to our room to avoid our getting confused. Were on the 5th floor and there is a lift. The room was comfortable. The only irritation was the internet got clogged in the pm but not enough to lose a star. It is close to eats, shops, and small grocery. The Colosseum is a 10 minute walk. Buses were within reasonable distances. Tap and go was handy for us on the few bus trips we did. Check-out was very easy. Transportation tip: On the inbound, we took Leonardo (€18.00-ticket) from the airport plus 1 stop Metro B (€1.20) from Roma Termini to Cavour. On the outbound, we took Metro B (€1.20) from Cavour to EUR Magliana. Then Cotral bus from stop #f10036 (€2.20) right outside the EUR Magliana exit. You need to download the Cortal App to buy a ticket, i.e. no tap and go. Pro: It is a chill ride (vs.Termini) and save some coin. Con: Buses are less frequent but it is the start of the line and our 11:00 bus left on the second.

The accommodation was cute and just what we needed right in the heart of Rome just a few minutes walk from the Colosseum and the Metro to get to Vatican City!

This is a little gem close to everything you want to see. We pretty much walked everywhere. Reception was very nice and welcoming. Informative too. Pretty good shower when it stayed up. The restaurant for breakfast, although a little walk away, was good so we went back for lunch on our last day. The only downsides. There was no kettle or coffee machine. I think there was in the past as there were tea bags and cups but no kettle. Also the front door is hard to open when you’re leaving. The smell of the jasmine growing up the front of the building is fantastic. Thank you for making out stay nice and easy 👍

As you arrive the first impression is that you are in wrong place because of all the graffiti on the walls . The room itself it’s ok . No a/c in the spring and the bathroom is small.

Great Stay at Il Covo

Had a great stay at Il Covo, the receptionists were amazing and very helpful. The room was clean and the size was just right for the price. The cot for our baby was prepared in advance and was free of charge. The free breakfast was good. They let us leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out. We stayed a while at the reception after checkout because our baby was fussy and the receptionist was very accommodating. We will surely book again on our next visit.

Short stay and I wish I could have been there longer. Excellent location with easy access to Termini and lots of restaurants and places to look around for a quick casual evening stroll. Upon my arrival greeted warmly by a very cordial woman ( name?) who made me feel right at home

Mycket trevlig och hjälpsam personal. God frukost. Fantastiskt att sitta på uteplatsen på kvällen efter en dags utflykter. Bra läge nära tunnelbana och Termini station. 20 min promenad. Enkelt att ta sig runt. Gott om restauranger i närheten.

Bra hotell med jättebra läge

Hotellet har bra läge ca 5 min gångväg från Colosseum och ca 15 min från Termini. Rosanna i receptionen var mycket trevlig och följde med och visade oss vårt rum som låg i en annan byggnad. Rummet var trevligt och av okej storlek. Badrummet kändes nyrenoverat men takduschen var väldigt låg så jag som är nästan 2 meter lång fick böja mig ner ordentligt för att kunna duscha. Frukosten var på ett närliggande café ca 150 meter bort och bestod av en helt okej frukost med bröd, yoghurt, pålägg, juice, croissant och kaffe. I kvarteren runt hotellet fanns massvis med restauranger men även supermarket, gelateria och andra butiker.

Avons passé un très agréable séjour dans la chambre Azura, spacieuse, grand lit,balcon...faite tous les jours. L accueil est très chaleureux. Un petit clin d oeil à Roxana qui parle très bien français, toute l équipe est très sympathique. Le petit-déjeuner se prend soit à l hôtel ou dans un café sur une placette très agréable. Proche du métro, l hôtel est très bien placé pour visiter la ville. Le quartier de Monti,est très sympa et animé. Nous reviendrons c est sûr je le recommande sans hésiter

Small rooms

Room was small and felt a bit claustrophobic, same as the elevator. Almost no space for luggage’s. There was a window but the view is the wall of the next building. Only had 2 pillows for 2 guests and no way to request for extra except to go all the way down to the office next door. The hotel has their own resto/cafe which was nice except we were placed in the other building so then we had to go to the cafe down the road for our breakfast. Breakfast was nice but the staff didn’t feel welcoming. Bathroom was nice, clean and seemed brand new. There’s a small fridge in the room. Heater control is on/off only, can’t change temp. Close to the coliseum and the office personnel give good directions.
