"Intorno al Fico is such a charming boutique hotel just minutes from the beach. We stayed one night before flying back to the States, and the relaxed, coastal vibe was the perfect contrast to busy Rome. The white stone architecture and flowering vines give the hotel a beautiful, almost Santorini‑like feel, and the residential neighborhood feels very safe. There are also two rooftop areas — one enclosed, one open — great for unwinding.
We walked to the beach in minutes and loved Malibu Beach Club right on the same block. Affordable drinks, a casual beachside setup, and amazing sunset cocktails made it a highlight of our stay.
The receptionist was incredibly warm, walked us to our room, and explained everything. Our room had a small kitchen, fridge, and safe (though the safe wasn’t working). Great water pressure and comfortable bedding. The €10 airport shuttle is a huge perk — far better than taxis or Ubers charging €35–45 for a quick 10‑minute ride.
For dinner, the Darsena area is about a 10‑minute taxi ride away and offers dozens of fantastic restaurants along the scenic Tiber River canal. Ask reception to help with a cab — Ubers here are unreliable, often take 15–20 minutes to arrive, and cancellations are common.
One note: the AC in Room 3 struggled during the 95°F summer heat, likely due to its placement behind a partial wall. It cooled slightly but not fully. Still, the hotel’s charm, service, and location make it a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!!"
