The staff was amazing and friendly, directing me to great restaurants and helpful tips about getting around town. The room looked and felt as if I was the first person to have stayed in the room.
A very good place to stay. The staff is friendly and they seem to sincerely ask for suggestions from their guests. I would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful new hotel. Great location central to all things downtown. Our concierge at check in was amazing and the champagne was perfect. We were upgraded to a suite for our stay and it was a beautiful room, lots of room to move around and the bar area really worked for us.
Clove this repurposed building. It’s spacious and a bit spartan. Thankful for the upgrade to a two bedroom suite. Great staff with excellent communications. I would definitely stay here again!
Great location and great sized suite! Only down wide was there was still construction going on so we could hear that and there were some unfinished areas on our floor.
Absolutely amazing place to stay! This was my sister and I’s last stop after doing a cross country road trip and it couldn’t have been a better place to end this leg of our trip. We had to book a room here last minute due to some really bad weather and Gloria was so incredibly helpful and kind. She even upgraded us to a two bedroom room! The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. If I ever end up in Roanoke again I will absolutely stay here again!

The staff were extremely accommodating. Cleanest room I’ve had in awhile.
It's a very new hotel and they are still sorting out a few details like signs (we found the entrance after a brief adventure). Room is huge with nice robes, towels and toiletries. Shower was great. Design is classy if a bit bland. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I did miss my in room coffee, although they had good coffee available in the lobby.
The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable; the room was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. We will definitely stay there whenever we are in Roanoke.
The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the hotel has a small loading area and it would have been great to have had valet parking as the hotel makes use of a parking garage separate from the hotel.

From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. My room was upgraded from a loft to a king suite, and it reminded me of a small condo. The room was very comfortable, the kitchenette clean with plenty of mugs, cups, a refrigerator, and a kettle to boil water. The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water and the shower very luxurious. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed the robe hanging in the bedroom area. Everything about this suite was "new" and "fresh". As I was leaving the next morning, the lady at the front desk was again very kind and polite. She warned me to be careful walking out, as the floor had just been mopped and was slippery. Also, upon checking in on Thursday evening, the lady at the desk gave me a mini-tour of the building, and the spaces that were being renovated. It was interesting to see the concept and how much had already been done. I hope to return and see the finished product later this year.
We visited shortly after the "Grand Opening," but the property felt incomplete. Our room had unpainted drywall on the ceiling and unfinished wood trim. Functional details were also missing: there were no outlets near the desk for a laptop or the provided lamp, no in-room coffee machine, and no wine opener available at the room bar or front desk.
The check-in process was frustrating. Despite a 9:00 PM door-lock policy, no one was watching for our arrival as promised. We had to call the front desk while parked out front, which led to a confusing encounter with a local police officer regarding our car. Be aware that you must self-park in a downtown garage, and there is no luggage assistance. Furthermore, the staff mistakenly told me my card was declined for the deposit, only to realize they were trying to run an internal Expedia virtual card instead of mine.
On the positive side, the location is perfect for walking to everything downtown. Once you look past the construction issues, the design and finishes are high-quality. The property has immense potential, but the management needs to iron out these significant operational and finishing hurdles.
This is a brand new hotel and they are still completing the restaurant. Our room was very comfortable with very high ceilings and celestory windows. The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to restaurants and other attractions.
Staff was great, rooms were very good with high ceilings, fridge, plenty of space, but no microwave. Parking was a small hassle, but a short walk does someone good. Location was fantastic. The only big problem was, hotel not yet finished. No lobby, no restaurant, no place to enjoy friends. Probably 6 months away from be completed and have a five star rating.
The room was beautiful and very clean. The staff was very helpful. She even went outside to point to the parking garage since which was close. They had good coffee and local fresh pastries in the lobby. They also blessed us with a room upgrade. I would definitely stay there again. There were lots of good restaurants within walking distance.
yes i did nto use the Gym but well eqquiped.
The hotel is right in the heart of the commercial area, the campbell street. There are plenty of food joints . thai , indian, Cuban, Southern food as well as regular American Diners. walking distance from the Museum as well as the hotel and convention center. 10 min by car from the Roanoke Star and 28 min from the famous McAfee Knob Trail head. A good quality Hotel to stay in
I stayed at The Promissory Hotel while visiting Roanoke for work. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff called me ahead of time to let me know which door to enter and where to park. Once getting there, they helped me with my bags to the room. The room was spotless and had a very unique vibe, unlike that of chain hotels. I also mentioned I would be staying in Roanoke more often so they offered to set me up with a frequent visitor rate. 10/10 recommend, I will be staying again!
