![Sua construção é assinada pelo arquiteto espanhol Adolfo Morales de los Rios (também responsável pelo Palácio Episcopal São Joaquim) e é um exemplo raro de igreja construída em estilo neomourisco.
Pela Bula “Ad universas orbis ecclesias” do Papa Leão XIII, de 27 de abril de 1892, foi reorganizada a hierarquia eclesiástica da Igreja no Brasil, que até então constava de apenas um arcebispado católico, em São Salvador da Bahia, e de onze bispados sufragâneos. Duas Províncias Eclesiásticas católicas foram criadas, a saber: uma no Norte, com sede em São Salvador da Bahia, e a outra no Sul, sendo a diocese do Rio de Janeiro elevada à categoria de Sé Metropolitana.

Staff I would say is the most valuable asset of this place, shout out to Mr. Guillherme, the Tour Concierge, he was always so eager to assist us always with a great smile and we felt he went above and beyond with his service.

Lovely the staff, the breakfast is incredible, great view from the roof terrace. Location is exceptional too. The view of Copacabana Beach was spectacular! The view of the city and even Sugar Loaf in the distance. Roof top bar/restaurant very nice too, right next to the infinity pool. We had room 2007 on the 20th floor. Breakfast buffet excellent too! Lots of items.
