Everything ok. Nice Hotel..The only con is they spray too much air freshner in the room, is very invasive. People very nice. Very good Breakfast. Furniture a little old style,
it has a 1980s/90s vibe."
It' s time for a furniture makeover to modernize the guest rooms
The room was clean and tidy, and great shower though the bathroom showed it's age. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed eating at their restaurants. I do wish there was a bottle of water in the room, it can be hard to access clean water while traveling.
Very clean place. Very safe, lots of staff and had no problems with anyone in the area. AC doesn’t go below 25 C so it was a little hot for us. Laundry service was $$$ so don’t recommend for that. Area is well maintained and about 40 mins to 1 hour depending on traffic to center of Rio.
The stay was nice. I will say The cleaners didn’t do very well with sweeping the floors. I went to the beach every day and the floors were still sandy after it was “cleaned”. The breakfast was a waste of money. Im still trying to get my money back for the breakfast. You are better off going to the restaurant across the street for breakfast it was better, more fresh, and cheaper. The juice at the hotel breakfast was good . That was the only thing. The fruit wasn’t fresh, i don’t eat meat so i cant tell you how that was. Over all the stay was good , i just want my money back for the breakfast. I only ate there once and i paid for a week.

Room was a little run-down with use. Our toilet was, unfortunately, clogged which was a real bummer. It was fixed the next day but not very welcoming. We had to specifically ask for a sheet change as a dirtied sheet was left in place by housekeeping.
During a few days stay, two if 4 elevators were constantly out of order, making wait time long and annoying, especially during meal times.
Breakfast buffet was great, in presentation, quality and selection. The hotel location is fabulous!
Staff was helpful.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
This hotel doesn’t deserve its five-star rating and needs serious renovation. It’s a massive property overrun with noisy tourists and families.
Pros: Spacious, comfortable room. Friendly staff.
Cons: Slow, undersized elevators. Restaurant feels like a cruise ship cafeteria. You must cross a busy highway to reach the beach (with long traffic light waits), and there’s no beach service. Severely understaffed with long check-in/check-out lines. Staff is compartmentalized and inefficient despite being helpful.
Verdict: Skip it unless you’re on a tight budget. This is not a five-star experience.

Disappointing experience with inflexible management
I booked a Superior room but was initially assigned an accessible room designed for guests with disabilities. When I requested a standard room as originally booked, I was charged a supplement – an unacceptable practice for a hotel in this category.
The staff operates with the rigidity of civil servants: procedurally correct but completely inflexible. Any deviation from standard protocol seems impossible, regardless of the circumstances.
Skip the breakfast. The beachfront cafés along Barra offer far superior quality at half the price. The hotel’s breakfast room resembles a ferry cafeteria – relentlessly noisy and packed with screaming young children. Not the atmosphere one expects when paying premium rates.
Unfortunately, this reflects the broader reality of Barra: large convention hotels designed for mass tourism and corporate events. The Windsor fits squarely in this category – efficient processing of guests with minimal attention to individual service. If you’re attending a conference or need beachfront access, it serves its purpose. If you’re seeking genuine hospitality, look elsewhere in Rio.
This hotel was very safe, clean, and comfortable. However, I woukd have preferred to have a coffee/tea maker in my room instead of the minibar. The staff, especially Felipe (front desk) and Almir (breakfast server) were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. Their smiles brightened our days. The water pressure in the shower was outstanding. Housekeeping was extremely fast and responsive. The extra amenities such as personal hotel drivers were awesome for special events such as the football game between Cowboys and Ravens. The roof top pool, sauna, and gym were good to have, but the gym should be 24/7. The free breakfast buffet and filtered water was exceptional, and the afternoon buffet was good. A large variety of food with both breakfast and dinner
The hotel is convenient to everything, and Felipe scheduled tours for us with Grayline Tours located at the Sheraton. The Grayline tours that we took (full tour including lunch and rainforest tour half day) were excellent. The tour guides (Eddie and Milene) were awesome. Overall, we had a blast and would highly recommend this hotel.
