Disappointment
I booked small double bad room. When I arrived receptionist told me that they don’t have any double room left and he can offer me just a single bad room. I agreed but no one gave me any refund or price difference as single room was cheaper than double one. I went to room but after spending there 15 min I left for another hotel

We really don’t like the hotel. It was very hot weather and room had one fan that helped a little and for this it was impossible to sleep. Bathroom was smelled like sewage every time you flush toilet.Breakfast was very poor. If you come late you will have for breakfast a herring with bread, since everything has been eaten and nothing is added from the food. The staff is not bad, responsive. One good thing is the location of the center of the city.

Location-excellent!!! Really dirty , old carpet with all kind of marks , etc. I asked the manager 2 days if they could clean the shower because it was black and they didn’t do it. One night we had the evacuation alarm at nobody told us absolutely nothing, we didn’t know what happened,etc. Bad communication ,etc. The only good thing is the location

Traffic noise until late evening but the Irina was conveniently located, staff were helpful and the breakfast was excellent, very generous.

We had small double room with ensuite shower. Carpet and bathroom show sign of age. Slow WiFi. But good location, staff at reception was friendly and polite, and breakfast was very good.

Rija Irina - okay lodgings for short stay
We stayed at Rija Irina Hotel at two different points recently during our two weeks in Latvia. The first room was like a postage stamp; the second room was more commodious. There is no air conditioning so the room was hot on sunny days. Unfortunately there was a street repair project right outside, making it noisy during the nights and challenging to ventilate/cool the room. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Breakfasts were adequate with good choices. The coffee was far from the best. The hotel is located right outside the Rīga Old Town not far from the Opera.

Great for the price
I have stayed here many times, I like it because it's good value and has great location. Good breakfast. Rooms are a bit basic and need modernising but always clean.

The refrigerator was off or not working. In the room I was only there was an electrical sockets in one place, under the table. During breakfast the coffee machine was not good and did not work well. Ps.: These impressions refer to this room I stayed in. I had previously stayed in this hotel, in another room, and it was more satisfactory.

Average No Frills Stay
Hotel is fine , room was VERY noisy due to roadworks which went on all through the night . Room was simple with no frills and no kettle . Bed requested was double but got 2 singles . Breakfast was adequate but nothing special , although business lunch was cheap and very good. To summarise you get what you pay for .

Location is fantastic: across the road from Central Market, train and bus stations, supermarket, close walk to old town. The hotel is in a heritage building which looks nice but the walls in the room were cracked, probably due to traffic vibration. Our room was above a noisy street corner. It was hot weather so had to open windows, but portable fan helped. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. It had a mini bar fridge. Good wifi

It took a whole week to see finally my sheet changed, the one I had from day one where too short and my pillow was on the uncovered mattress so disgusting. Most of the time the maid didn’t even make my bed. Staff was helpful and nice. Location good.

Big suite with helpful staff
I was given an upgrade to a suite room, which is a bonus to the stay. The room is very large and breakfast is good. Staff are helpful. However, the furniture is quite old. It is very close to train station and inter-city bus station! It is also close to the old town.

Riga is a lovely place hotel was spot on but wouldn't of mind air conditioning in the rooms I went in may and it was 25 degrees and had to leave window open with fan on and it's on a busy road so if ye windows open your not getting much sleep hotel 5 minutes walk to old town Riga which is were most the bars are

One Iron and waited 3 days for it? More!
The Standards have dropped at this hotel from my previous stays here. Sorry but its just the truth. Tried to get an Iron and Ironing Board for three days? Eventually 2 hours before my meeting and after continued complained I finally got a not so nice iron and no board? on my third day there I was told I should have orderd the Iron? Do they really have just one iron in this 200 plus room hotel? Also cleaners barged into my room without knocking when I was naked and never even said sorry? I used to stay at this hotel all the time.... but not anymore. Its gone downhill.

Basic, friendly staff with a great location.
The hotel is in as great location. It is a mere 1-2 minutes from the train station and 5-6 minutes walk to the old town. The rooms are tired and basic, but clean and comfortable. Certainly not for individuals who want pampering, but good for a basic room to explore the city. Staff were really helpful and rooms were clean. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. A great budget option!

The room was small/medium in size, and unfortunately we had a twin rather than the double requested. The bathroom/shower were clean and working well. Plenty of hot water. There was an electronic safe in the room which was good and a minibar/fridge which came in handy. The breakfast was buffet style so there was plenty to eat.

Good price and good location
But the staff is not friendly and does not make your life any easier. internet connection is absolutely terrible and the furniture is quite simple. However, the room cleanliness in good and it's a very good location at a cheap price.

Helpful staff but very little else
Room was tiny, and I mean bed touching 3 walls tiny, definitely not a three star hotel but I will say that the staff they had on the front desk were very helpful.

Overall is fine, but slow check in
Great location, across from the railway station, supermarket, convenient stores are all nearby. The carpet of the room is pretty old with some stains. Overall is not bad, but the check in process was too slow. I was waiting for 20 minutes in line to get my room key

Good Location but adult sofa "bed" was for a child
We asked for a triple room for 3 adults. They gave us two singles and one chair bed. It was sold to us as a sofa bed, but you could not fit one person (about the width of 3 pairs of shoes) let alone two people. They did change the room after 2 nights. Breakfast was standard but a bit of a miss on quality at times. Rooms clean, polite staff and no issues with Wifi. The location, for us, was good with it being near the train station (nb. a short walk through the train station takes you to the market area). We have stayed in other Rixwell hotels in Riga have gone back to many but this particular one was a disappointment.
