Perfect for our trip, the hotel is a little tired but that didn't bother us.
Staff were pleasant and location excellent.
It was a bit shabby but very comfortable. A hole in the bathroom plaster and wallpaper should have been rectified.I thought breakfast could have been included in the price but the bar prices were very good. An enjoyable stay.
Extremely good value for money, staff very friendly and the food was really good, would go back without a shadow of a doubt. 5*

Overnight Stay Wednesday 5th June 2024
I found my stay at The Elms to be very pleasant and convenient. I stayed in The Stables just around the corner from the main hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean. There were plenty of teas and coffees. The shower was decent. I enjoyed a good night's sleep.
I also had dinner at the Indian Restaurant within the hotel.
If I am in the area again, I will have no hesitation in staying there again

Very clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Big breakfast. Decor has obviously been updated but still needs work in the stable rooms. Floorboards very creaky, which must be noisy for the downstairs guests.
It was ok, don't know what wrong with the noise levels, anyone goes to the bathroom the floors squeak not only in your room but the room below too, apart from that room adequate if a bit on smaller side has everything you need, well if you ask hairdryer supplied as well as teaspoons but Indian restaurant fab would
Very pleasant and helpful staff. The room we were booked into in the Stables was very dark so we asked to change rooms. I was allowed to view the next room which looked like a palace compared to the Stable room but on closer inspection realised it was very dated and needs a major update
I just want to say I attended Mark and Emma’s Wedding Saturday 6th July and it is THE BEST wedding I have ever been too. You went above and beyond for us all, the food was absolutely out of this world, the staff was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, the room we stayed in was spot on, the decorations was out this world and you made the whole day so special ❤️ absolutely amazing ❤️ 5 stars from me without a doubt ⭐️ Thank you so much

The accommodation was not in the nice, well presented, large house. I'm unsure if there is any accommodation there, which would be above the restaurant. Our accommodation was in an out-house. It was poorly constructed with squeaky ceilings and loud plumbing. The people staying above us liked to walk a lot around the room, which didn't help, but fortunately they were quiet overnight. When they were having a shower or flushing the toilet all the water ran through pipes located in our room, so this was very noisy!!
The actual room had dated furniture and the skirting boards which could do with a lick of paint, but the room was clean and tidy and included all the basics including tea and coffee making facilities, 1 set of towels (apparently you can ask for more) and a fan.
The bed was very comfortable, although we were pleased to have brought additional pillows with us, as they only provide one each. We had a good nights sleep on it.
The room reminded me of an American motel room as it was accessed straight from outside. The outside doors looked nice from the outside with a small window, but these windows need recovering as they let light in, which can be disturbing at night.
You can park right outside, which is useful and they own a restaurant, which we didn't use, but this is also useful. We drove into town to eat.
Overall I would stay again for a short stop over, but not in the summer as it was too warm even in September. I would request an upstairs room if I stayed again

Room was a good size, and bed comfortable. Bathroom new and very clean, though couple of issues with the toilet which I have informed hotel about. Only one pillow each and one set of towels on arrival. It states in welcome pack to ask if more required, which we did shortly after checking in, didn’t arrive and had to ask again later in evening. Breakfast was plentiful and well priced though meat could have been hotter and toast was cold. Breakfast and bar area was very clean. Wasn’t fond of the hanging extension lead from tv, which kettle was also plugged in to. Very odd configuration. So to summarise… some things need bit more thought/attention but overall ok for a couple of nights.
