The room itself was very nice but there were some minor repairs that needed attention such as loose bathroom doorknob, loose toilet seat and loose lightbulb fixture over bathroom sink.

A nice enough overall setting but the rooms need a coat of paint, additional locks on the doors and better control of the humidity. Our 1st room smelt awful. Possibly moldy.

Okay

Meris Gardens was nice enough, but it seemed a little run down. Cobwebs in all the doorways, yard overgrown. Just seemed kind of old and dingy. They only cleaned the room the first day we were there, the second day we got back from the beach to find no one had cleaned. The owners were nice, just seemed pricey for what it was. Nice location, though. Only a few minutes drive from the beach.

This property was quaint and perfect for a family trip to the beach. My favorite part was meeting the proprietor at Breakfast each morning. Even though the rooms were not exactly B&B, it was so nice that the owner made breakfast and chatted with everyone. In that sense, it had a very nice B&B feel to the place.

For a place that has been there many years, it was surprisingly in fine, comfortable condition. Room appeared recently renovated, neat and clean. They served free breakfast in a nice hospitality room which was delicious, each morning. I would definitely like to stay there again in the future.

Its clean and Ms. Sue is really nice. We stayed in the garden room near the office. It is the only room that is separate from the rest of rooms but connected to the main office and kitchen I believe.

Great, friendly mf accommodating staff. Basic, tasteful rooms. I really liked the breakfast options more than most. The rooms was small but had a cozy feel... they allow dogs do that is great! Oh my, if they had a fenced in area, I’d return every year!

Perfect for a quiet, relaxing solo getaway

I really enjoyed my stay at Meris Gardens. It was quiet yet cozy/charming and exactly what I was looking for in terms of a motel/B&B hybrid experience. The owner works very hard to keep things clean, to keep guests happy and fed, and to be around/available for any needs that might pop up. The grounds were beautiful and my room fit my needs - there was some general wear in the room but in a "lived in" way that you might find when traveling abroad or in an AirBnB, for example. For me, I appreciate this more than a sterile hotel room, especially when at the beach/on vacation. Having a fridge and microwave in the room was SO helpful and convenient, ice available 24/7, bikes available for use (though I brought my own and locked it to their rack). I really hope to return and stay again!!

If you like rustic, this might be for you. There were too many poor working things and other than making the bed and fresh towels, you are on your own for shampoo and soap after the first shower. Good intentions just cannot make up for the aging plumbing and electrical systems. Good luck if you try it. Not inexpensive for what you get and don't get.

Bethany’s best kept secret! The staff was very polite and personal! Room was clean with a fantastic rustic look. We had the garden room that looked out over the garden. They offer bicycles and give a free small breakfast. Very charming!
