Lovely place to stay
Really lovely staff at the hotel..
Our room was above pub 30 yards from hotel. So we earned full breakfast by walking! Food v good evening and morning. Hotel in good order.
Had a nice room in the Inn at Ravenglass, very clean, good bathroom, nice facilities, only issue was access to the room which is via steep stairs outdoors at the back of the inn. Would recommend.
A quirky place to stay but ideal for access to the Ravenglass railway. Park at the hotel and a 2 minute walk to the train.. Pub with good restaurant 1 minute walk away. Great breakfast at the nearby hotel. Tiny village but great views
Room was spotless and so spacious could really relax and just look out the window at the lovely view.
Bed comfy and bathroom enormous.
Would only say maybe some bottled water in the room would have been nice
Ravenglass is an excellent place to stay just a small village right on the edge of the national park the steam train ride an experience not to be missed with a short walk to the hamlet of boot where either of the two hostelries with give you good food and service
Checking in at the Pennington (you have to for this property) was easy to do. Staff very friendly. Accomodation was clean, bright, warm with great views. Would book again.
Stay as really good , was a bit anxious as we climbed the old stone stairs to the room but openend the door and the room was better than I could have expected , it had an amazing view from the window . Downstairs was a lovely pub that served some excellent food
Fabulous room with views you would never get bored of. Fridge in room was an added bonus.
Would have been nice to have info in the room as no idea of checkout time etc. but otherwise perfect.
We stayed in room 25. The view over the estuary is up there with the best I've ever stayed in and worth booking for this alone. The arrangement where you get your key from the Pennington and have breakfast there but can dine in either seems confusing at first. But who cares if you get that view which is ever changing and no photo can capture it.
Fabulous room overlooking the estuary which actually included a fridge which it had said it didn’t have so a bonus. Lovely meal at the Inn, not cheap but very good.
Slight downside was entrance into accommodation through back of pub which was littered with cigarette butts. We would definitely go back though - loved it!
Stayed three nights with my wife. Being very close to Wasdale, 40min drive, it is convenient for climbing Mt. Scafell Pike. Room is spacious with a splendid view. One down point is that the pub on the ground floor is sometimes, on Friday evening in particular, noisy.

Lovely room and great views from the room over the estuary. The corner shower is a little small and the outside steps up to the property could be a problem for some guests. We had breakfast at the Pennington Hotel, whilst the food was good the service is very slow, had to ask for tea several times and for the servers to take our cooked breakfast order.

This apartment is up a steep set of stairs behind the pub. Lovely views from two windows, however no double glazing so noise from wind was very loud and disturbed my sleep.
The room is nicely decorated, has a good shower and clean white towels and bedding.
The bed and pillows are quite firm and I’m used to something a little softer so felt a bit uncomfortable.
Would probably try the Pennington hotel as all the amenities are there under one roof.
The room was large and perfect for me and my dog having direct access to the yard! And despite being above the pub, there was no noise.
The only downside is it is a bit tired looking and could do with a lick of paint. Also despite being 'dog friendly' and they don't tell you this, but they charge £10 per night for your dog. However i do recommend this room and would definitely stay there again!
Room was huge and had the most amazing view. Although the sofa was comfy my favourite spot was sitting on the window seat. Had a lovely meal in the main hotel and breakfast was good too.
