Stay was Nov 18-22 Our recent stay at your hotel was truly enjoyable, with the highlight being the breath taking view from our room. Unfortunately, there were a few aspects the fell short of our expectations and impacted our overall experience. On Nov 18, we arrived around 7:30pm and notified hotel of our arrival as planned. However, the young lady who met us encounter on unexpected issue - She had locked her keys inside. Despite her efforts contact other guests for assistance we were left waiting outside in the cold and rain for about an hour before another guest finally opened the door. Nov 22, my husband and I had planned an early departure, but it didn't quite go as planned. The evening before, he let the front desk know that we'd be checking out early, and the young lady at the front desk provide us with instructions on how to exit the premises. Unfortunately, when we tried to leave at 6:00am when, the button that was suppose to open the gate didn't work, and we'd already left our keys at the front desk. when the button failed to work my husband became upset and decided our only option was to scale the 8FT fence. We had substantial amount of luggage, including two 50-pound suitcases, one 3-pound smaller suitcase, and two backpacks. I lifted each item high enough for my husband on the other side to grab, but he lost his footing while grabbing the first suitcase and fell to the cement. Fortunately, he only sustained minor injuries including a concussion.

The hotel is not transparent about it's location. Uppn arrival to the town, you walk DOWN a LONG way which means every time you want to visit the town or go to other area sites, you have a very laborious uphill climb which is exhausting especially with luggage. I asked if someone could take me to the top of the hill my last day, but they declined and offered to call a taxi (35 euros) to go half a mile. It was raining, but they still wouldn't accommodate despite me seeing only one other couple my entire visit. They do rides to their sister hotel where they have a family restaurant (which is further than the top of the hill). Also, upon check in, you have to tell them what time you want breakfast each morning. You then have t go down to a small oom to pick up the food each day d take it to your room or you can eat in a small room downstairs. Breakfast staff seemed unpleasant and food was poor. The entire stay my tv was broke. A lady changed the remote batteries and also unsuccessfully tried to get it to work. We finally gave up. I am athletic (run several miles a day back home) and still had a difficult time with the steep hill. Absolutely do NOT STAY HERE if you are elderly, disabled or in poor shape. Stay in the village way at the top of the hill where everything to do is accessible. The front office staff is very polite but this is NOT a hotel rather a villa with a very small desk for check in. It is NOT staffed round the clock (safety concern). No pool.

We had an amazing experience while staying at Casa Dolce Casa. The owners and staff are incredible, and most importantly the room is clean, the sheets and bed are comfortable and the breakfast was delicious every day. We recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Ravello. The views from the room is amazing.

This hotel is a diamond in the rough. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to out of the norm circumstances. We were three hours early and they welcomed us. It’s a short walk into town and the bonus was private parking at the facilities. Would stay here again if my trip allowed it.

We had a nice view from our balcony in Casa Dolce Casa overlooking a public pool area and the sea. The pool area can get noisy during the middle of the day but was always quiet in the morning and evenings for beautiful views. The breakfast on the rooms private balcony was worth the expense and the food selection was great. Make sure you select your breakfast the evening before. Like most places on the Amalfi coast there were some stairs to climb to get to places but this location allowed a walk on a street rather than stairs that was easier. The staff was very helpful and always happy.

Pretty Ravello

Casa Dolce Casa, is set on a beautiful hill in Ravello. It is a walk uphill to the town square or nearest restaurants. There are steps as a short cut, but pretty tough going, so road easier. The staff and team are lovely and helpful. Parking good and property secure. The roads make interesting driving, so take care. We did not have a direct view from the room, but even then you still have easy access to outside seating and terraces for a drink overlooking the stunning views. Location, need to be able to walk uphill, access to buses into Amalfi.
