Staff, such as it was, was great. Unfortunately, for some reaon (probably understaffed and unable to fill) tjere was no manager available for this Indigenous People's Day weekend. A biker, cosplay, and some other convention was going on, as well as a wedding. ONE night audit on for the weekend! SERIOUSLY!?!?! Poor thing ran around doing her very best and calm the whole time. Shout out and congratulations on a job well done, Melissa! However, the hostel is dated, and while pretty much spotless, it is in disrepair. The carpets are worn, and bleached in places, counter tops are coming off the wall, television is out of date on the programming, with a line going up the middle...some kind of graphics defect, toilet paper holder pulled out of its bracket onto the floor, and one elevator was out of order, the secind one barely functioning. Most folks ended up taking the stairs. There are no designations as to what floor you are on in the stairwell. Thankfully, its only 4 floors!!! The hot tub was out of service, and the pool heat and filtration was off. I spent 2 days trying to get it unlocked. The staff on service had no clue as to why it was closed, but rumor had it that it was because of the short staff and the amount of business taken in for the weekend. Whew!

Front desk staff did not seem to care about anything, room smelled terrible and caused allergy issues the whole time, pool not heated as advertised, no hot tub as advertised as it was drained and no one knew why, lobby smelled sickening sweet aroma, not pleasant- will not recommend. Plus we have a random charge on our credit card with no explanation given.

Our room was somewhat dated with the old school step in tub and curtain but the space provided more than made up for the noisy air conditioner.

The room smelled of cigarettes. There was no soap or shampoo in room. The bathtub was dirty. The room next door played their tv extremely loudall night long.

I made the reservation and payment via Expedia but at the time of arrival at the hotel, they didn’t have any information about my reservation. The lady at the front desk was diligent and resolved our issue. The hotel charged my card despite the fact that I had already made the payment on Expedia. The room was dirty as well.

Mechelle at check in was absolutely rude and not helpful. They didn’t have my reservation from Expedia, she was no help in resolving the issue other than to tell me I had to call them. She was busy texting on her phone and kept walking outside while I was trying to resolve the issue.

Booked through Expedia and there was a lot of additional charges when we checked in. Room had a smell to it that was not great.

Didn’t look like the picture the room wasn’t clean. They gave me a handicap unit and nothing worked in there also I didn’t request that. It smell like mildew and urine so I end up changing the unit to a smaller unit that still did not look up to par. It wasn’t worth the money

The first room smelled of urine and a noisy air conditioning. The hallway carpet is stained and smells like vomit with occasional bleach stains in it from improper cleaning. The table cloth at the entrance table looked as if it had just been picked up off the floor (very wrinkled). The breakfast was good but we had to pay for it. Will never stay again

Pool was closed, musty smell in hallway and room, lobby and front areas very nice, staff good, room old with no decor, put us in handicap room and not needed, no closet, hall carpets old worn, air conditioning units old and noisy, convenient to Duke
