Lovely hotel, super friendly and helpful staff, food excellent! For me a comfortable bed is always key to a great stay and the beds at the Lux Marijani were superb. The beach is very nice and well kept, pool is great for swimming (30m! Length) and also great for playing around. I recommend this hotel highly!

The hotel is even more beautiful in person. The rooms are lovely, they have a choice of pillows (!!!) nice toiletries, all vegan! There are many other amenities in the room too. Even a TV that you can cast to from your device & nets on the windows/doors so you can enjoy the air without being inundated with insects! They have mosquito nets on a rail around the bed so you don't have to tuck it all in. (IYKYK). They fumigate regularly. The gardens are lovely, beautiful flowers/trees/plants, a little endemic forest and herb garden! The beach is gorgeous, it is private up to a point but there are beach boys and people selling stuff on the beach - they're not intrusive. There aren't many sea urchins. The reef walk provided by the hotel is excellent. The pool is very nice, they have yoga/water aerobics/village tour each day and other games if you want. The food is great, large variety at dinner, different themes most nights, kids sections and cups/plates. Great desserts! Fussy eaters will be fine. There is evening entertainment which is a bit hit and miss (singing) but generally good like silent cinema and local culture displays. The BEST part of the hotel is the staff. They can't do enough for you, they're so lovely, engaging, not intrusive, just love all of them. I can't say enough good things about them honestly <3 Abdul, Musa, X2, Isaac, Lucy, Lucia, Furahi, Salome, Abubakar, not enough word count to thank everyone! Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a memorable stay xxx

Very stylishly designed hotel. Beautiful decor & tropical gardens leading to a picture perfect white sandy beach. Gorgeous large comfortable rooms. The perfect place to chill after our safari’s & stay in Stone Town. Thank you to the chef for fantastic food, especially the curries. All the staff were so lovely and the service was great. We also enjoyed the low tide sea safari with one of the staff. We highly recommend this as a beautiful chilled place to stay.

Other than the beds we found to be too hard even though we asked for the soft one, the rest of our stay was amazing the different dinning themes, the pool, the ocean being right there. But the highlight was the staff they are so friendly and absolutely give you the best service.

Stunning hotel, very reasonable price. We ended up opting for half board and this worked out well for us. There was always plenty of options on the buffet which were good, we did not find that the ala carte options were very tasty at all. The staff were all so kind and helpful. The private beach was lovely, though unfortunately you still get harassed by beach boys who are generally nice but annoying. The room was always clean, the staff smiling. The pool is beautiful and I love the extra inclusions as well as the little gifts! Godlisten and Rachel were especially wonderful. We would absolutely recommend.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at LUX at the end of May — the place is absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff made our experience truly special. A big shoutout to Kennedy at the front desk — his hospitality was out of this world! So pleasant and polite, he took the time to show us around and made us feel at home right away. Huge thanks to Abdul at the cashier desk for the amazing upgrade to the Executive Beach Front Room #9 — what a treat! And Ali at Café LUX, thank you for your help — such a well-mannered young man. We will definitely be coming back again!

I can only rave about the service I received at this property. Everyone is so kind and so observant and so attentive to every single need. They go above and beyond. When I left this morning, they had a gift for me. I had to leave for my plane at 2 AM. They arranged for transportation pack me a breakfast coffee and gave me two gifts with a smile. I almost hated to leave. It was like I was going to be missed by my new family. The beach is absolutely beautiful. There is plenty of space. The villas are nice and big. The property is in pristine condition. I have no complaints. They remember my birthday also saying to me brought me a cake made up the bed with decorations twice excellent excellent excellent! Highly recommend

My husband and I booked the Lux Marijani for our honeymoon. We did one week safari in Tanzania and then flew to Zanzibar to stay at the Lux. On arrival the staff were extremely welcoming and instantly made us feel at home. The Lux has amazing staff who get to know you and really make you feel welcome. The food and drinks selection was fantastic and all our tastes were catered for. The hotels facilities were overall ok and we spent a lot of the week at the pool and time in the evening on the beach. The nightly entertainment was always fun and worth watching. The only downsides to mention would be the fact that our room was situated on the ground floor and we had no view as we were surrounded by plants. On the first day, our room flooded and though this was inconvenient, the team were quick to rectify and very apologetic. The gym was quite small and not well air conditioned. There were limited sunbeds around the pool and this sometimes was quite frustrating. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

It's been a week since my vacation, and I'm still in awe of how perfect my stay at the hotel was. The hotel excels in every aspect, from the friendly and attentive staff who anticipate your every need to the delicious food and fantastic activities on offer. The rooms are very spacious and clean. In the evening, the housekeeping staff even prepare the beds for sleeping and replace the towels again. There are wonderful entertainment programs in the evening, such as open-air cinema. The hotel has a family-like atmosphere, with the staff checking in on your well-being daily and engaging in relaxed conversations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return soon.

An unforgettable experience at Lux Marijani ZNZ

Our stay at Lux Marijani was magical, and it’s hard to find enough words to describe how unique this place is. First and foremost – the staff! Every single person we met was outstanding. You quickly build a personal connection with many of them, and they bring joy and attention from morning till night. We had the most contact with Clementina, Gloria, Mustapha, Mildred, Olivia, Mirsho, Isaac and Reemha – all smiling, welcoming, humble and genuinely kind people who truly want to give you the best holiday. Manager Sumit was always present, engaging with guests and ensuring everyone had a wonderful stay. It’s clear he leads a team that truly cares. The dining experience was superb – both buffet and à la carte. Head chef Nitesh impressed us by creating dishes outside the menu, while pastry chef Desi crafted desserts on another level. The bar team – Alex, Michael and the rest – were a joy every day, full of energy, humor and professionalism. Special thanks also to Abu, the animation manager, who kept the atmosphere lively and made sure all guests felt included. Housekeeping kept our room spotless with twice-daily service and evening turndown – a real touch of luxury. Flexibility is excellent – meals in the restaurant, beach lounge, on the beach or in-room. Going on an excursion? They prepare a lunchbox. All in all, we had an unforgettable holiday. A warm thank you to Sumit and his team – you made our stay something we’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived, Lux Marijani delivered a truly five-star experience that we simply cannot fault. This has been one of the best holidays we’ve ever had, and it’s all thanks to the incredible team who make every guest feel genuinely valued. The welcome starts at reception, where the team take the time to get to know you. They remembered our names throughout our stay, which added such a personal touch and made us feel genuinely at home from day one. Our room was beautiful, especially with its sea view and bathtub, making it the perfect place to relax after each day. The housekeeping team work incredibly hard and consistently go above and beyond to ensure every detail is perfect. A special thank you to David at the bar, whose service was exceptional throughout our stay. He was always happy to create cocktails tailored to our personal tastes, and his banana smoothies are simply the best! A special mention also goes to Mrisha, who regularly looked after us on the beach, taking and delivering our drinks with a smile. It was another example of the attentive service that makes this resort so special. Martin and Issac in the restaurant were wonderful hosts—kind, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable.
