This is my 3rd time to the BP resort in Punta Cana but first at Esmeralda. I really enjoyed my visit. The property is well keep and beautiful. All of the common areas were clean. My room was large with enough space everywhere. The check in and a la carte reservation process was easy to use on the app. When I arrived the front desk was very friendly and helpful! Carla was the best! Every bar or restaurant that I went to was full of staff that were polite and took care of their guests. The food portions were filling and there was a good selection. The pool area was fun and lively. Alberto at the pool bar was a master at drinks and service. The gym had enough equipment to get a good workout in! The beach had enough chairs for guests. It was an easy walk to the beach and the beach was tended to by staff. It was annoying when people save their chairs but don't even come to use them until the afternoon. Overall I enjoyed my time there.

We love the pool. Also, the beach was perhaps the most amazing beach we have ever been on. Truly sugar like sand. We could walk for miles. Food overall was just OK. The buffet by the first pool was much much better than the buffet by the beach. Also, the bartenders at the pool bars were amazing. Alberto, Albi, Yadelina and the others made it so much fun. Entertainment was fun also. “King Kong “was a lot of fun. We kind of got suckered into going approximately 10 minutes outside of the resort for souvenirs, but it was simply a tourist trap. It was free transportation, but they just wanted to get you there so you would buy some things. Really enjoyed the local drink, mamajuana. Again, can’t stress enough how amazing the beach is here. Overall, a really nice stay

There were several roaches visible in restaurants and sports bar area. The food was decent in the Esmeralda restaurants but much better in the other restaurants on the other resorts.

Our room with the swim out pool was great. Having the option for a low key swim was nice. The smaller pool was great and where we spent most of our time. Able to get chairs with an umbrella everyday. The staff was fabulous especially Angela by the pool. House Keeping kept our room really clean and always stocked with fresh towels and waters.

Rooms are dirty and smells bad, you have to give them good tip for changing sheets but it won’t help cause all blankets and pillows smells bad. Bathroom dirty, hotel front desk slow and helpless. I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s only 1 star all inclusive hotel. We escaped day earlier from this hotel. My family didn’t want to stay full.

Not 5 star luxury hotel, this was a 3 star. Most of the staff are unhappy and unwilling to serve/help or just plain do their job. Customer service is not their priority. Upon check in, it would have been nice to be given information on the grounds, a map, events that are happening, what sister hotels we can visit, how to make dinner reservations, etc. Hotel was also not recently renovated as described on Expedia. Many areas of the room need renovations. Many of the pool/ bath towels had stains and holes. Smelly blankets and pillows that needed to be switched out. Not an all inclusive 5 star hotel as coronas and basic domestic/international beers are $5 each. I did not see any name brand liquor at any bars that didn’t require a up-charge. Also, extremely disappointing that they allow guests to wake up at 6am (which I will not do while on vacation trying to relax) to go claim all the beach and pool chairs by placing towels all over them. Many chairs were taken all day by these “towels” but no one using them. There should be designated staff providing towels and walking the guests to a pool or beach chair. This would avoid people claiming chairs in both areas in the case they decide to go to one vs the other. The hotel grounds were beautiful but the lack of service/poor attitude from most of the staff made overlooking certain short-comings worse. With so many resort options, I can confidently say I have no reason to ever go back to this one.

Facility needs better maintenance, rooms were ok clean, could be better. Staff should be better trained to act professionally and friendly towards guests. There was a lot of bantering going on among restaurant staff while you are waiting your order to be delivered.

We went to celebrate 20 year anniversary, we actually got married at the resort. We have been at this Bahia resort now a 4th time. Unfortunately it has really fallen off. The good - Beach is still beautiful - The upgraded us to a beach view (Block 90, 3rd floor) The not so good - The shower in our room stunk of sewer, it was a strong odor. We told the concierge daily, and we were told every day a technician would come look at it. No one ever did. - No Hot Water for the first 2 days - Buffet is very basic, it used to be so much better - We both god food poisoning I sent a message to management while at the resort and they didn't do anything. Just the standard response "We are disappointed, we will improve and provide better service in the future, hope you give us another opportunity" Standard responses with no personal follow up loses customers. This is my last vacation with Bahia Read other reviews, there have been several people with similar situations
