We received a fantastic upgrade to a ocean view balcony. Our room was very clean. Staff in the dinning areas was excellent. You need to be early to get a spot by the pool area, but ample space by the ocean.

Room was cleaned everyday and the fridge was restocked daily. Staff are so friendly. Pool and area was as expected from previous trip and the bartenders are quite good. The only thing which changed from previous trip is the chairs around the pool are taken quite early; the previous year there was lots of selection at 7am this trip not much selection left by 7 except the beach had a lot. Restaurants are great with a lot of selection.

We had a great time. The service and food were amazing! The beach is absolutely beautiful! The only complaint we had was trying to get a chair at the pool. You had to be down by 7am to get chair for the day. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at Occidental. The staff was very friendly and pool staff were energetic and fun. The evening entertainment was fantastic. This is a smaller resort and more appropriate for an older crowd vs kids but they do have a kids pool. The beach is amazing, you can walk for miles. We only ate in one specialty restaurant (twice) which was the Italian and the food was excellent. It was nice that they made personal omelets at the breakfast buffet. Didn't love the food at the buffet but there was lots of variety and fresh fruit/salad/baked good so I can't complain.

The room was acceptable- it was clean but not much for storage and smelled of mildew, we think it was the air-conditioners filter. Didn't have wash cloths or enough towels. The food was average at best but the Staff was beyond wonderful. We were there when the cartel disruption occured and the resturant had to close due to not enough staff but the staff that were there had to stay and work until others could finally arrive- they worked exceptionally hard to keep the guests happy and wet all got to celebrate when they were finally able to go home

Spotless room, great staff, authentic food at the buffet. Individual restaurants should be better than the buffet but they’re not. I stayed as a Royal guest. Also, they should take a page from higher end resorts and have pool and beach attendants to avoid people reserving chairs at 6 am. I alerted management and north was really done about it.

The evening shows were very loud. I asked to move into a room farther from the evening entertainment. They moved me two floors up, but still with a window right over the entertainment. It was difficult to sleep. The showers also didn’t function properly. I was really looking forward to resting on my vacation.

It was good until we had to rebook additional stay . We were stuck in Puerto Vallarta as all flights were cancelled we were unable get rooms decent with a cost of 346.31 US dollars a day . No fridge . They said to book on line now asking for four additional days 3000.00
