The staff is very complacient, the food is hit miss, we came back with bad GI infections the Hideaway location smelled like sewage. I would Not return!!!

The Royalton properties are usually beautiful and enjoyable, but I was very disappointed with the service at the Cancun location. I’ve stayed at other Royaltons and never had an experience this poor. The drinks were completely watered down—we had over 10-12 drinks and still felt nothing. I suggest bringing your own bottles. The food was also disappointing; unlike other Royaltons, we found ourselves ordering chicken tenders and fries from room service every night. Room service took up to two hours, with items delivered separately and without communication.
Service overall was a letdown. We paid just like everyone else, yet often sat through entire meals before being offered water. Simple drink requests took so long we gave up and got it ourselves. What made it worse was seeing guests who weren’t people of color get prompt service. Sadly, the same pattern continued at the pool bar—waiting 15–20 minutes for drinks while others were served first, despite us tipping well. I don't like to pull the race card, but this felt too obvious to ignore.
Leticia, who cleaned our room, and the water aerobics instructor were the only bright spots. Yes, there were issues like odor around the property, but those are more understandable. The lack of respectful service is not. I work hard for my vacations and expect the quality Royalton promotes. This is the first time in 16 years of travel that I’ve had such bad service. I loved Royalton Punta Cana, but I won’t return to Cancun.

It was a cute hotel however not being able to get reservations for restaurants when they were all the time empty is not cool. We don’t come to an all inclusive only for a buffet. Staff was friendly. Drinks were weak but good. Would be fun to have more music rather than just instrumental. Especially in the adults only pools

I don’t understand the low ratings, this place was fantastic. Good food (steaks are ok but everything else delicious) welcoming and helpful staff, fantastic pools on both hideaway and the family friendly side. The suites are clean and comfortable.
Room service is slow but else is convenient.
The cafe makes great coffee every morning and the bartenders make delicious drinks.
Highly recommend.
Oh and the gym amazing!

After reading all the reviews prior to visiting the resort we went in with a glass half full minded expectation. The resort definitely is in need of some TLC !! We hear that is coming as the resort is soon to shut down for some much needed updates and improvements. The staff did the best they could with what they had I felt. Management could use some experienced improvements. We had lots of seaweed which made the beach almost impossible to enjoy. The bars could use some consistency from one to the other, random alcohol selections made enjoying cocktails challenging. Restaurant food was decent, the resort doesn’t do well trying to accommodate a larger group of travelers. However Armando the waiter at Zen was the highlight of our trip, two nights in a row. He seemed to be the only one on property that knew how to make a group happy and like family.

I was in the farthest building from reception. For 2 days everytime i left the room my keyfob was deactivated. Multiple times, i lost count, me, my 80 y.o mother and 21 y.o autistic son had to walk from building to reception to have it reactivated. And not once were the staff apologetic or sympathize, it was as if we were bothering them. The annoyed look on thier face each time were came in the office turned me off. I was exhausted and sweaty , wasted so much time, walking back and fort.

Friendly service and the room was wonderful. The entertainment people went above and beyond to make our experience even better. Our room was great as well and we had our own rooftop pool.

Cons: Resort is OLD and is under renovation, noise and dirty on the beach and pool areas. Beach was impossible to bath. Brown water. Rotten seaweed all over the beach. Smell really bad on all property. The Tractor guy is a Scam. He supposed to clean the beach but stay all day doing Nothing. He needs to be Fired. Water on the Room smell bad. Cockroach on the room. Tex Mex restaurant does not care about costumer. Estefania was a person supposed to take care of you, but she never helped us with one small problem, and she was kind of Rude. PROS: Good food, good Drinks and good restaurants. No Air Cond. Just Fans. Kind of HOT. Ulises was our Butler, and he was Very Polite professional and is a person to count on. Helped us with reservations and everything else. Best place is the Beach Bar. Yuriliana and Alberto hard worker at Beach bar. Nice Guys taking care of you. Finally, I think If the hotel will be under construction or renovation, they are not supposed to be open. Nobody goes to a vacation to be in a place with workers making a lot of noise and Dirty. Totally disrespectful with the costumers. I do Not recommend this hotel.

If we could give 0 stars we would.
1. We didnt get the 3 presedential suites we ordered it was a bait and switch.
2. Rooms covered in black mold, the drapes, laps, curtains, etc.
3. Rooms had dirty floors
4. Fan stopped working above bed, not good in hot weather.
5. They had portable dehumidfieres you had to empter every two hours yourself, or they would stop and they blow hot hair.
6. The sargasim was terrible you could not enjoy the beach or outside as it smelled so bad you wanted to throw up the entire time.
7. You have a butler but they tak 3hours to answer.
8. Room service was rude and food was terrible.
9. You cant book dinner spots untill they give you your room. But by the time you do that the best spots are all taken so you are left with a the buffet which again is crap and bad service.
10. Leading up to your stay the pre check in process is broken and doesnt work.
11. You cant call the property and get someone to answer the phone, 17 calls over 2 weeks and 8 hours of hold music to never answer the phone.
12. The entire place has no AC not when they check you into the Diamond Lounge which is for those in presential suites, it was 90 degrees in there. Nor in any restruant.
13. The entire resort is date and falling apart. Nothing is dont to upkeep it. The escalters where broken, to the walls where coming apart, to mold. This was by far the worst place we have ever stayed and again we were in presential suites. Or should I say ones they called that but didnt give us.

We had our wedding there with 9 of our family and friends. The property was away from the city and the view of the ocean was gorgeous. Our room was cleaned every day. The restaurant options were okay, the mexican restaurant, Agave, was the best meal we had all week. Our onsite wedding coordinator, Gabriel, was absolutely amazing! He made us feel special from day one on the property!
However, it was really hard to get service at the bars and one of the restaurants was the worst service we had on the trip. We had to pay an extra $400+ and were promised a personal server for our group, which we did not get at all. The escalators didnt work for most of our stay. And the spa was really overpriced for the services that they CONTANTLY try to sell you. Its every few minutes they go by trying to sell you something. Which made it less relaxing.
