Comfort is basic overall and the owners offer the option to have lunch and dinner on site with good local food. Internet access is a scare ressource only accessible from the main building for the time being but you don't really go there to spend your day on social networks. This is better to have your own car and a 4x4 is needed to access the site and the beaches...

「The view from absolutely everywhere is stunning. We had the chance to see a plethora of birds and monkeys from our little pool in our balcony. The drive there is a little challenging but the location makes it all worth it. Taking a shower indoor/outdoor is one of a lifetime experience. 」

「Very difficult to get to - hour and a half of bumpy roads to Carate, then a 3.5k hike. The logistics were not well communicated, but worked out fine. Hot (mid-April visit). The grounds are pretty special with spider monkeys frolicking in the trees right above the tents and ocean waves supplying 24-7 white noise. The guided hike into the National Park was underwhelming - the wildlife was superb, but you only skirt the periphery of the park and don't get to really explore the old growth. 」

「Playa Cativo Lodge is a wonderful place and the accommodations, food and staff were absolutely perfect. It was nice to be so close to the gulf which was calm, warm, sandy and perfect for swimming. My only complaint was that the entire front area of the lodge has been landscaped with grass and ornamental plants, many of which are not native. Because of this large open area few birds or animals come near the lodge. Bird watching was disappointing compared to lodges that have left the rainforest...

「Return trip after many years. Hear/see ocean from room. Wildlife easily spotted.housekeeping and gardens were very clean. Rooms well constructed especially bathroom ( nothing fancy but solidly built). Customer service and waitstaff need hospitality training. Guests seemed like an inconvenience.(Booking and administration were very responsive helping with Corcovado tour. ) Unfortunately,if the only contact a guest has is with employees that seemingly don’t want to be there then the whole place...

「Wonderful property. Staff picked us up at the beach after our wet landing boat ride from Sierpe. Room #11 was perfect for an couple with an lovely patio including a hammock overlooking the river and ocean. Breakfast included with lunch and dining to purchase, all food options were very beautiful presentation, delicious and reasonably priced. Property is well kept with beautiful landscape and steps to the beach. A mile w allow into town took 30minutes or front desk can call a local taxi for $10....

「L'endroit est parfait pour explorer Baie Drake et en étant un peu retiré pour la tranquillité. Sebastian le proprio offre le service de taxi pour un prix très raisonnable. Le balcon donne sur les arbres et les singes viennent à cet endroit. Sécuritaire pour aller seule à pied au village le soir avec lampe frontale. 1 km de la mer et 2 km du village. Super endroit confortable et chaleureux.」
