The rooms are very dark. The room had very little light. There was a drainage smell in the bathroom. There was no plug for sink that had a big opening where things could drop into or come out of. There was a drain in the bedroom next to the bed. We covered it with a magazine to ensure no insects came out of the drain. The towels were old and rough.

For the price, this place was awesome! the room was spacious and the breakfast that was brought to our room every morning was really good. I highly recommend this place and the staff were superb. will stay there again if i go back.

Amazing experience

It was amazing, the design is really unique, everything was great, location is perfect. The only comment is the lounge bathroom was not that clean.

I really enjoyed Quinta Esencia. It was walkable to Zocalo and all points of interest even a fantastic restaurant on premises. The only pitfall was a very loud and popular bar directly below the hotel…music goes from about 8pm-1:30am Thursday-Saturday. This hotel is not handicap accesible, it’s an older Casona gorgeous by the way. Other than that, was a nice stay.

Room was very nice, location was excellent for walking. Very courteous and helpful staff. Be aware that there are lots of steep stairs to climb to get to some rooms. Some coffee you have to pay for. Some rooms may not have windows. Plenty of food options not far away but restaurant in hotel and bar next door available. Very minimalist but in terms of location can't beat it. We had a very nice time.

Great location in the centre of town and the room is nicely decorated and quiet. There are no windows in the standard suite which made the room very dark. Most disappointingly, there was no hot water all afternoon and evening despite reception telling us to simply run the water - it actually got colder the longer we ran it. We ended up moving hotels for the next night so we could shower.

Would not recommend, rooms are dirty and outdated.

Would NOT recommend. This boutique hotel is in dire need of a refresh and a thorough cleaning. I truly do not know how they have such a high rating. My room had stained sheets, make up stained pillow sheet, the bathroom area was terrible. The toilet had rings indicating it hasn’t been cleaned in some time. The shower had hard water stains throughout. Not to mention it just looks and feels damp and dirty. The dim lighting hides a lot of imperfections but with a flashlight you can see how nasty the room was. I didn’t even feel comfortable enough to use the hot tub which was the selling point of this room. We slept on top of the sheets and used the towels as blankets. It was disappointing. The bench seat in front of the bed had debris, crumbs, and hairs in it indicating it had not been vacuumed in some time. The pictures really sell you on it but it was not a clean and fresh room. I don’t know if I got unlucky and got the oldest room but it was not pleasant. The only reason we did not leave was because when we got back to the room after the quick check in, it was late, raining, and dark, and didn’t want to deal with the process of leaving.

The hotel feels very dated and the rooms were not clean. The pictures are NOT an accurate depiction of what you'll get. There was hair on the ground and water stains in the bathtub/sink. Overall not clean. The hotel is on top of a bar so you'll hear music until very late at night - bass blaring. The only pro was the staff. They were super kind and accommodating hence 2/5 stars. Nonetheless, I would not come back.

Es un lugar bonito pero a detalle tiene algunas faltas importantes. De la tina salina un hilito de agua caliente y tardaba mucho en llenarse. No limpiaron la habitación y hasta después supe que tienes que solicitarlo. La tina de hidromasaje al aire libre sólo es un gancho porque no está disponible. Su publicidad es sutilmente engañosa.

Estuvimos agusto y las personas que atienden son muy amables y serviciales sólo tomen en cuenta que es una casa antigua restaurada si sabes apreciar eso estarán muy bien. El restaurante en planta baja es muy recomendable.

Es un lugar asqueroso! Las habitaciones muy sucias, sabanas sucias, muebles viejos, sucios y descuidados con goteras de agua que hacen charcos en la habitación, NO HAY AGUA CALIENTE!!! Baño asqueroso, toda el agua se sale del área de regadera, toallas viejas! Las habitaciones y el lugar en general apesta a grasa quemada de cocina DIA Y NOCHE! No se dejen engañar por las fotografías de la publicidad!!!!!!! El peor error haber reservado ahi, no regreso, no lo recomiendo. Los comentarios de excelencia dudo que sean reales!! Insisto no se dejen engañar!!!
