Kosovo - a "disputed" territory. Before we got here we had so many doubts. Is the country safe? Where would we park our car? Would our car get stolen? Could we walk around normally on the streets? Did we have to be careful about our phones and cameras? Would we be stopped at the border for money? It's a disputed territory after all and haven't we all been 'taught' to be wary of such places? And when we got here the locals told us - 'It's so safe that we don't lock our doors when we sleep'. A country so beautiful, so ethnically diverse, so culturally interwoven, locals so friendly they just walk up for a chat, so trusting that they invite you to their homes for a meal or a coffee, so helpful that they walk to your destination with you.. We stayed for a night at Hotel Avdissons in December 25 and couldn’t recommend it enough. The rooms were spacious and clean, the hotel was well situated, but the best thing about the hotel was how friendly and helpful all the staff were throughout.
