staff were all friendly, when they were there, nobody came to the bar despite numerous press of buzzer, same at reception, spa was nice, room had stained carpets and awful view but was spotless otherwise, new parts of hotel were lovely, old parts need upgrade, was awful smell in several of the rooms in old part of hotel, breakfast was okay, items missing and not replenished.

A gem of a hotel

Have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last few years and they’ve had some renovations since I last stayed which look great. Friendly attentive staff, great food in the restaurant and very clean and tidy as always.

the room was ok, small but we expected that, bed was comfortable and there was everything you needed in the room. However there was a dreadful smell throughput the hotel - like a drains issue. After a while you got used to it, well accustomed to it, but still there. the lady on reception when we booked in was lovely, bless her she was dealing with what seemed like a tricky customer on the phone when we arrived and didn't seem to get much support from her manager when she tried to put the call through to them, she was very apologetic about us having to wait and witness that. She herself was brilliant, helpful, professional and friendly, I am only sorry we didn't catch her name. On the whole the hotel is okay, warm and comfortable, but if I honest I am not sure the inside is on par with the flashy new exterior.

Our room was very clean and looked to be nrely decorated. The Bed was very hard and couches also extremely hard and quite uncomfortable. Bathroom adequate but needed a few shelves to put toiletries on. Room stifling hot through the night even with heating down and window open Woken at 6am with a terrible noise outside? Was told ot wss air conditioning Vety disappointed to be told that a hotel of this size had no non alcoholic gin, wine, or mocktails??? We wete told they had sold them all and had none left!!??? Our evening meal was delicious though. The waiter at breakfast was clearing our table whilst I was still eating which I thought was rude .perhaps a wee bit more training here??

A very welcome stay

Very comfortable hotel stay, with lits of amenities to take advantage of. Breakfast was excellent with great service and lots of options. If the weather is good, take advantage of the gardens to relax with a cool drink from the bar. Well worth considering if stating in the area.

Essential R&R

Great welcome on arrival. Reception very busy but made my check-in as simple as possible. My visit was part of an extended business trip and the stay was a welcome R&R stop. Didn't get chance to use all the facilities on offer, but the restaurant provided a relaxing, enjoyable hour or so to unwind. Compliments to the Chef(s) the food was excellent and the attentive restaurant staff completed my dining experience. Will be making this venue a regular stop-over when I'm next in the area.

My friends and I lived the place. Very clean. Staff very professional but friendly. There were a common ice machine in the corridor and tea facilities in the room. Food was superb. We wished we were staying longer as it was so nice and peaceful. Would definitely use this hotel again. Thank you.

the stay was lovely , it was booked for valentine’s day and all the facilities where all top notch and working well , food was amazing as well as the live entertainment !!!
