It has been 14 months since my last visit and I am disappointed to report a hostile greeting from a member of reception staff who was previously most pleasant and helpful. Gross inefficiency added to the start of my stay, as my room was not properly encoded to open the door with the room card, and I had a real job getting two members of staff to understand even after I showed them! However I was given in my opinion the best room in the hotel, on the 5th floor at the back away from the road with town views. Very spacious too, and the bathroom had a shower with multi function sprays. TV with many English channels. The lift imitates sounds of glass bottles being smashed. Wifi is free but not great. Excellent breakfast with hot and cold local specialities, cereals, cakes and juices. It is served from 7 and some mornings the staff are slow and disorganised at laying out the buffet. A lot of the staff are mute, miserable and unhelpful. The female receptionist who checked me in also did check out and asked for payment- even though I gave her a copy of the email stating I had paid in full. After much debating and insisting the hotel hadn't received payment, a call was made to whoever and at the end of this all I got was "ok"- the person had obviously confirmed my payment and I got no apology for causing me this stress. So cheap, nice room and good breakfast but the service is quite appalling!
