"My stay at Ibis Portsmouth was really great although the lift had broken down. This was compensated by the friendly reception staff especially Sike, an African American lady really impressed me on arrival and during my entire stay - not hesitating to ask if everything was fine or suggest what else I could do. "If you've ever served in the forces you'll think you've walked back into one of the messes. Its full of as you'd expect Naval touches and great because of it. It has loads of quirks to it from a peaceful reading room library to a small pool what's not to like. Hey its a bit dated but personally that was part of the charm. As for location, couldn't be much better for the historic dockyard/gunwharf quays/train station/ferry. I will be staying there again."
