this bed-and-breakfast in Northern mean is wonderful. We had a great reception from the owners, Bill and Marianne. Room accommodations were well kept, clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, but the breakfast was absolutely spectacular. Fresh scones were delicious. I highly recommend this B&B if you’re visiting the Portland area.

Our stay at the James place couldnt have been better. Conviently located,very clean,awesome breakfast,the owners were super nice and helpful,no unpleasant surprises when we arrived. The house was just as advertised. Cant say enough nice things about our stay. Definitely would stay there again.

Great B and B!

This B and B was outstanding for attention to detail, immaculate condition and cleanliness. Their breakfast was delicious with a start of fresh fruit and scones, and a great breakfast burrito that day. A short walk to LLBean, it’s near all the attractions in Freeport. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. It was a real pleasure to stay there!

The James Place Inn exceeded all expectations. Our room was clean, lovely, and inviting. Mary Ann and Bill were great hosts and the breakfast was delicious. I have a gluten intolerance and my meal was made to accomidate my needs... including gluten free homemade scones. Their attention to detail and friendly interaction with guests made this the perfect place for a long Maine weekend stay.

Disappointed

The proprietors were very courteous. Our main complaint was the bathroom size. Looked like a closet was converted to a bathroom--literally. Comparable to a travel trailer size. Your knees almost bumped the door while on the toilet. You could sit and wash your hands in the sink with the shower at the other elbow. Everything was clean and the room was quaint. Would not return, too that room anyway.

Location to the busy areas of Freeport is steps away from this quiet oasis. Very nice innkeepers and staff will be there to make your stay pleasant while allowing you the privacy of a hotel guest. We stayed one night on our way home from mid coastal Maine and enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay!

The property was beautifully landscaped, the Inn was lovely, well maintained and comfortable. Our Hosts were friendly and helpful in offering places and guides to Freeport and it’s offerings. Breakfast was AMAZING. Quite the best of Inns we have stayed at.
