"Loved the pool facilities, spaces to walk, gondola. Bar staff and bar service, seating wonderful. Loved the Chacouteri board, went to both. Can’t really rave about the Forte except for the Caesar salad. Room and view wonderful, again staff excellent."

Popular places to visit

This spot was part of a tour S/SE of Anchorage. During the drive we also saw baluga whales, Dal sheep, eagles, bears off the hwy, moose, and caribou. Not to mention many more glaciers than the one in the background.

Took a day to go exploring with some friends up at the ice caves in Byron Glacier near Whittier, Alaska. I’ve lived in Alaska my whole life, but I’ve never tired of the epic blocks of ice. They’re absolutely stunning and if you haven’t had the opportunity to explore the inside of one yet, I highly recommend it!
