I booked 2 rooms for 4 guests and paid for two rooms through Expedia, however on arrival at Palm court in Port Macquarie, the receptionist insisted that they only had one room booked for 2 guests under my name.
We were advised that the hotel was fully booked and the other two guests needed to find alternative accommodation. As we booked through Expedia and not directly with Palm Court, we were told that the hotel could not rectify the mix up and would not refund for the second room. Fortunately a hotel nearby had a vacancy which the other two guests were able to check in and had to pay for additional accommodation at the rate requested.
I am very unhappy that while Expedia charged for two rooms, we were only allocated one room, plus additional accommodation for another hotel.
I will not book through Expedia or stay at Palm Court ever again as it turned out a very expensive overnight stay and very unsatisfying experience!!!!!
I would like an explanation as to how this can occur, if more than one room is booked by one client
