The room was amazing - right on the beach so you are staring at the ocean from bed. The service was wonderful - everyone was so helpful and so attentive. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the included massage was top rate.
It was an amazing resort! Very tropical and relaxing. My girlfriend and I had a great time enjoying the meals and amenities. The staff was amazing and very welcoming. If we're ever back in Zanzibar, we will definitely stay here again!
Tulia Zanzibar spared no detail when creating such a beautiful resort. We stayed here for three nights as part of our honeymoon and our biggest regret was not staying longer.
Though pricey, Tulia is worth every penny. The food was delicious, the views are incredible, and the staff were fun, attentive and kind. We would fully recommend Tulia.
The best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, the attention to detail was incredible.
My favourite aspects were:
The food: fantastic steaks, octopus and tuna steak in particular
The dinner entertainment: Masai show, acrobatics, varied musical performances
Unlimited private yoga: at no extra cost
The island in the middle of the pool with a sun bed for two
The staff: incredibly friendly, remembering your
Order and going the extra mile
The extra treats they organised to celebrate our honeymoon

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Wonderful magical gardens . Lovely friendly staff . Great gym . Although breakfast good all other meals were very tasteless . Even the mayonnaise and butter were of poor quality . After paying for one of your best rooms we were left very disappointed . The old fashioned shower wasn’t really of 5 star standard . Also the lack of electricity for half a day wasn’t great .
One last thing . I loved the enthusiasm of the staff but didn’t enjoy Bay City Rollers beating out at breakfast just as I’d woken up .
All was perfect, rooms are amazing, the staff is there for you, but very discrete, anticipating all your needs and smiling all the time. Kindness is the master word in a peaceful place.
Stunning hotel with very attentive staff where nothing was too much trouble. A great place to simply relax and do nothing. Excellent breakfasts and good choices for lunch and dinner with menus changed daily. Spotlessly clean with large air conditioned rooms.
Tulia is one of the best resorts we have stayed at. The staff went overboard to make our daughter’s birthday celebration spectacular. They made a special cake and danced and sang for her. There is nightly entertainment. The food was delicious. The ocean view is unbeatable.
I stayed 4 days after a safari its a lovely small hotel was makes it special is the service and food, there is night intertatianment , quiet in the day if you want a quiet time this is a great choice if you want a lot of activities and moter sports this not for you
Everything at Tulia was lovely. The gardens surrounding the rooms were exquisitely manicured and the vegetable garden was impressive. the entire property was very picturesque and the staff could not have been nicer. They made us feel like family.
i would highly recommend this resort
Absolutely exceptional. Everything about this resort was sensational, from the friendly service that goes the extra mile, the wonderfully curated dining options every day, to the gardens that were so immaculately looked after, down to the wonderfully serene pool area.
I'm privileged enough to have visited many world class resorts across every corner of the globe and this very much ranks amongst the best of them.
Tulia is truly a amazing hotel that goes long over expectation. Everything from the lovely garden, to the farm where the grow all vegetables to the food, the beautiful setting and design of the hotel, ocean views, coctails, nice spa, free sups and cayaks and sailing, to the most friendly staffs and great service from the first minute you arrive until you check out. It is a truly gem! I rarely give a 5, but Tulia is one of a kind!
We had an unforgettable experience at Tulia Zanzibar during our honeymoon. The food was absolutely amazing—truly high-end and exceeded our expectations. The service was beyond phenomenal; the staff were some of the best we've ever encountered, with Joseph standing out as an exceptional member of the team. They made us feel incredibly special, surprising us with thoughtful little touches throughout our stay. The property itself is stunning, offering a serene and picturesque environment. We also loved the farm, which provided fresh, garden-grown fruits and vegetables, adding to the overall charm. Highly recommend!
From the free return transfers, to the welcome on arrival, to the staff, the food, everything was amazing! All inclusive includes a la carte menu for all meals of the day (not buffet). The staff are the best thing about this place. They were very welcoming and friendly.
The free 60 minute massage was amazing.
There is entertainment at every dinner. We saw some really good performances with all guests and staff getting involved in singing and dancing.
I dont have anything negative to say about my stay here. We definitley received luxury treatment, however I do still think its slightly overpriced per night.
My sister celebrated her 10 year wedding anniversary here and Tereza and the team did everything they could to make the day special.
The feedback would be given the price of the hotel, I'd have expected more to do at the resort. For e.g. there are treatment rooms for massages but no spa fscilities such as jacuzzi, sauna, indoor pools etc. I'd have also expected more luxurious decor. For e.g. the bathroom is very basic.
We have checked into another hotel (residence zanzibar) and already i can say this does not compare to Tulia at all!
When we left we were given a small gift which was very lovely from Tulia. Will definitley miss our stay here and all the people we met.
Firstly, this is an amazing place. The staff are an absolute asset to this place. So so lovely we felt like family.
Had my vow renewal here and very decent price for this- mostly complimentary. Thereza was amazing and very concerned about weather on the day as had unexpected amount during our stay. The food was fabulous. Sit down meals, not buffet which was lovely. Chef will make you anything you want although there is a set menu. Had all inclusive stay.
Beach villa did not have a private pool. I wish we booked a cheaper villa with a private pool (note messais are security and walk around the villas often so not fully private). Not massively child friendly- no TV channels or much to do- but staff were lovely to my kids. Very clean villa and hardly any bugs inside.
Restaurant entertainment were great every night. Dinner starts at 8 which is late for kids but they will serve for kids earlier. Complementary room service.
Now for the price, the villas are not amazing. Bathroom is not luxury, no toothbrushes, poor hairdryer, no hand soap as I would have expected. Kids bed faced directly on our bed which wasn’t great. You are paying for the amazing staff and food. Great spa and you get complimentary massage per person staying (including kids).
I was expecting a much better resort and facilities for the price but staying elsewhere in Zanzibar made me realise how important great food and service is which Tulia definitely has. I would stay again purely for this.
Heavenly tropical paradise. Wonderful in every way. Feels so private and secluded - I can't imagine finding a better resort anywhere else in the world. Stay as long as you can (4 days was not enough!!)
We have stayed at many beach resorts in different countries around the world and none of them would top Tulia. It is just a fantastic small resort and everyone there seems to go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make your time there enjoyable. As we're from the United States we just wish it was closer but if we have the opportunity to visit that part of the world again we will definitely try and stay a few days at Tulia Zanzibar.
We stayed at Tulia for 5 days following a safari. The resort was amazing but the best part was the staff. They did everything they possibly could to make our stay the best it could be. They were the friendliest, happiest people we have come across in our travels. The food was outstanding, with plenty of options. We had our flight get delayed and they allowed us to stay on property and use the facilities while we waited. They even arranged for us to shower in the spa before we left. One of the best resorts I have ever been to and hope to go back.
