Kriti Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This is an excellent hotel which I can find almost nothing to fault - perhaps draft beer and options (included paid) for a late check out! The breakfast was ace, the pool well-maintained, a useful gym, fantastic staff and superb location. Thanks for a great stay in Chania!"
Solimar Aquamarine Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Had a fantastic stay there! Would absolutely return. The staff were friendly and helpful, food was top notch and the buffet was quality eith different theme nights and never the same. Lots of kids options too! I was so impressed with the options. We were eating lamb chops and swordfish, which I would not expect on an all inclusive buffet. The room was fantastic and really spacious....more like a suite. The beds were a bit hard though and the bath didn't work properly but was grateful to have a bath tub. The only downside was the kids club was not much fun and there was only one night of entertainment so the only real fun stuff for my toddler was the kids pool, which ahe loved and was fantastic. Everything was very clean and overall well maintained."
Atlantica Kalliston Resort - Adults Only
8/10 Good
"Decent hotel overall which ticks all the boxes without quite reaching any particular 'wow' factor. The private loungers on the beach were a highlight and the beach is clean with good sand, clear water and great for swimming. Theres also 2 additional pools which are decent and not busy even in peak season when we visited. Being an adults only hotel meant that it was peaceful without noisy kids taking over, however there are a lot of screeching cicadas in the area which are a bit like sitting next to a car alarm especially on the room's balcony area. We opted for half board which was unnecessary as we went into town for dinner, the evening buffet was ok but not amazing, breakfast buffet was good though. From chatting to locals this is one of the bigger hotels in the area and one of the few adults only. Its well regarded locally but having been to varoius other 5 star places it wasnt exceptional, but for Chania its a very good option. The hotel is well located with a handy public bus service into old town; Chania town is very pleasant and has a lot of good places to eat but the best restaurants are away from the harbour. Overall an enjoyable stay."

"Great holiday. Easy check-in, great team of staff that took care of every need we had; including a late check out request. The room was lovely and clean, with water supplied daily. We enjoyed cooling off in our plunge pool too. The breakfast service and breakfast selection was great. The beach is beautiful, with calm clean water. There were plenty of available loungers, towels provided, you could order delicious quality food and drinks direct from your lounger, which is brought to you. The beach bar, Sushi restaurant/bar and main restaurantall all serve delicious, high quality dishes... the main restaurant's al a carte dinner menu and desserts were amazing, with beach views and relaxed entertainment for ambience! Equally, the room service was excellent too. I'd definitely return because the team and staff are great and so are the facilities with a relaxed vibe, and lots of quiet and peace if you want it."

"Must go property!"
Blue Dome Hotel
8/10 Good
"Beautiful property, very well maintained. The staff was very accommodating, and kind. They do rent out beach umbrellas to non hotel guests which makes for a crowded situation. My only complaint, the constant bombardment of cigarette smoke. There should be a no smoking section at the restaurant when eating, at least. We couldn’t get away from the stench anywhere. It was in the restaurant, at the beach and pool area, we couldn’t even find relief on our balcony, as our neighbor was a constant annoyance with his excessive smoking. Overall, it was a good stay. This is one of the better hotels in the area. I highly recommend if you are planning to visit."
Porto Platanias Beach Resort & Spa

"This was our third year in a row staying at this hotel, so clearly we like it and have had some great experiences here over the years. The location is fantastic, the scenery is beautiful and the hotel still has a lot to offer. However, as returning guests, we have noticed that the level of service has gradually declined over the years. The long-standing staff remain fantastic, friendly, helpful and genuinely committed to making your stay enjoyable Unfortunately, some of the newer and more seasonal staff don't seem to have the same culture or level of engagement, as the service can feel more like getting through a shift rather than creating the warm experience we remember. Another frustration is the morning competition for sunbeds around the pools, as by around 8:00–8:30am, many are already "reserved" with towels. That said, this is still a great hotel, with several pools, a wonderful atmosphere, a beautiful beach, watersports and boat trips right on your doorstep. The views from the restaurant and breakfast area are particularly beautiful, whether you're enjoying the sunrise or sunset. We continue to enjoy coming here, but it does feel as though the hotel's focus is gradually shifting more towards maximising revenue than maintaining the level of personal service that made it stand out in the first place."
