This location was ideal! Our patio overlooked the beach and we were able to walk into the beach unobstructed. It was beautiful! There were several restaurants, bars and stores nearby, including grocery. The walking roads made it easy to get around safely without a need for a golf cart. Although warned repeatedly about the nearby bar noise, we were not disturbed by noise. The staff was excellent. Truly a gem!

Staff are great! Very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very basic and reflect the price. A lot of TLC needed. Don’t plan on sleeping before midnight with the popular bar next door. And sound travels easily amongst adjoining units. Snoring, talking, etc.

There are so many GREAT things to say about Julie's. I am 72 and have traveled the world over. I have never felt safer anywhere. Even night walks r ok. be smart though I lost my wallet at the neighboring Barefoot bar, the night before leaving. Satiago, Julia's maintenance man, helped me look in the wee hours b4 my time to leave. He informed Shelly, Julia's property manager, of my loss. Shelly invested hours, long after I was gone. And located it. Other Great aspects. Julia's beach is so perfect. As a naturalist I preferred the natural palm tree shade to umbrellas, huts, or beach cabanas. the dept of the water does not exceed your waist for dozens of yards, making it perfect for young children. I never found a drop off even 75 yards out, which was about chest high. wave height is minimal. The owners son, Brian, who other reviewers call "creepy" is innocent. He simply has had a head injury, so he keeps to himself. He will do a hand bump but his speech is impaired. The vibe for all of Placencia is very hard to describe. It is closer to family than tourist. I found it easy to make a self stay with a Mayan beach vender, Yvette. I negotiated to stay 3 days 2 nites with her family to observe Mayan lifestyle and ware making. she is government certified The cabana is cute and adorable, according to my wife. mattress was good. ac/heating worked fine. You only need to ask, and Julia's will deliver. Hot plate to cook, hammack, whatever. Out of space, crap

Lovely staff at the office and the night watch man as well …. AC worked well and we had an extra fan provided …. Plenty of hot water in shower … this was our second visit to Julia’s and we will definitely be back again ….

The room was clean and spotless. The amenities were basic but felt like we didn’t need anything so worked out. Next to Barefoot bar. Not as noisy as we thought thou. Right on beach. Little walk down the yard and walk through gate and onto beach. Clean beach. Raked daily. Cons The soap dispenser in shower was out so we went out and bought one which was fine in the end. The shower head needs to be replaced as well as there was sharp edges on the drain. Needs new pillows. These were flat. Overall great stay for 4 days.

What a cozy and well-located room in Placencia. Our cabana was right on the beach. The busy and fun bar next door had music playing till midnight, but for us, that was great -- just made it more like beach living. The rooms are in great condition and the staff is wonderful. Santiago keeps the beach and room area in perfect shape and is very attentive. We felt at home, and we could walk the Placencia sidewalk for coffee, breakfast, and night life at all times. There is a public parking lot very close, so we parked our rental. Cannot wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Julia’s Cabanas! We were in a two bedroom, second floor unit and it was spacious and very clean with a wonderful view of the palm trees looking over the ocean. It was so nice to have our own hammock and balcony and being so close to the ocean was wonderful! It was a great location with friendly staff and I would definitely stay again!

Everything was awesome, as it always is when I stay here. The only recommendation I have, is to clean the AC units, filters and all. I didn't need to use the ne in the room I stayed in this time (cabin 4), though I could see that it hadn't been cleaned in some time. Possible leading to mold and dust build up in the filter. No worries though, this is between you and I and will not deter me from staying there. I will most definitely be back. Thanks for the great place and awesome vibes as always. - Cirkl

Great place to stay, right on the spotless beach, under well maintained coconut trees, but not if you look forward to quiet nights : the bar next door will keep you awake a good part of the night!
